Arioch's Analyst Thread

I guess we can safely guess 65-70 techs total? There were ~85 in vanilla Civ 4, if I can count accurately. I guess if we add the social policies (of which there are 40, 30 available at a time) there are actually more "advances" to make, but there are less techs.

If you look at the tech tree that i posted, it makes 70 known techs, and it still continue to the right.

It appears to have 5 upgrades :)

Look, not that it's a big deal, but you're misreading that unit screen.

The 4 triangles are not upgrades. All it has is a yellow symbol. Further, in the combat screen (i.e. decisive victory) there are no combat modifiers other than 65% barb bonus (likely because of policy unlocks).

Not 5 upgrades at all :).

The chech pics also reveal that Difficulty level 4 is the (or just "a"?) normal one, called Prince.

Maybe "normal" means a category, like "easy", "normal", "hard" or like that...

Another thing: one czech pic says:

President Augustus Caesar...

Elsewhere we could see "Consul Augustus Caesar"

so - as it was suggested - title is in line with a given social policy...

I just hope that the inclusion of particular city-states does not preclude the inclusion of a Civ (i.e. Korea, and another I can't recall atm).

P.S. Algeroth, I freaking love your quote. If only there was, "What happened to my armchair? Sorry baby I had to crash that armchair."

Ok, I've read the article insteaded of skimming through and there are few new informations:

-They complian about the lack of informations. They haven't find a way how to know the military, cultural, political, scientific...etc. level of other civilizations.

- Research pact seems to work that two civilizations will pay a sum of gold and twenty turns later (don't know if it's influenced by game speed) both of them will gain new tech.

- After reasearching Optic, all of your units can go over water, they will transform into a transport and sail away.

They changed granaries ? +2 :food: ?
I can live without the science slider, I can live with hexes and 1upt but now they're going too far !

new diplomacy element!
(EDIT: it was not mentioned before as in civ5)

another pic says: EMBARGO (against a 3rd civ)

Screenshot of advanced map setup. I don't know, but have the OCC been confirmed already?

Sidon is militaristic/hostile, Seol cultured/hostile

Hmm that image with the random leader and random civilization seems to me indicate that there will be a possibility to have unrestricted leaders (there is some room for it in the advanced map setup!) or that they at least prepared for the possibility to choose leaders. I hope so, the game last so much longer if you can do different combos.

And OCC gives me the idea of a game with like just one normal AI, max number of city-states and OCC. That could be really cool

I guess that consul is from liberty, (you can see it here) and president is for freedom.

I don't see any point in that though. There are no leader specific traits, they're bond to civs...

But you only need 10f to grow to size 2 and maybe 14f to grow to size 3. I bet the previous granary effect is saved for a later buiding when it'll be much needed.

the previous granary effect migrated to the collective rule social policy.

As far as number of techs go, so far we have seen 63 and we havent even seen the words "Modern Era" in the tech scroll bar, meaning only half way through the modern era if that.
Also don't forget what was assumed that thier will also be a future era is now confirmed thanks to a screen shot. (See Below)
So i'm thinking we will see as many techs as vanilla civ4 easily, which is 85 someone said.

Also heres an interesting screen shot with a civ V player who went for Road Spagehtti.
Oddly enough his economy is in ruins, with a negative gold production which is stifiling his science.
