Arioch's Analyst Thread

the previous granary effect migrated to the collective rule social policy.

Are you kidding ? The collective rule effect is only for growing to size 2.

Not very powerful but new founded cities are on their tracks quicker !

Different Art, My guess is this is what cities and trading posts look like in the modern era.

This is awesome, Im talking about how the citizens have a voice. In Civ 4 the citizen just watched as we did things and reacted. Now they want us to act to make them happy. I love that they demand resources, which incorporates the idea of The People wanting war, not just the people playing the game. This game may take away thingd from Civ 4, but its good. It throws curve balls at you that Civ 4 didnt touch. It really is a much better game in my opinion. I cant wait :D

I don't see any point in that though. There are no leader specific traits, they're bond to civs...

That is not necessary true, I cant see any reason why the traits we know couldn't be bound to leaders, sure they seem a bit like they are more suited to the civ than the leader but there is no word on how it is coded in the game. Bound to leader or bound to civ. I think it is bound to leader, so the possibility for additional leaders for a civ exist for future expansion packs and mods. However that is just speculations from my side but you are also speculating. I am not saying that you are wrong just that there has been no confirmation.

Ancien Regime would make no sense as a trait for Napoleon, but makes perfect sense for France.

That gigantic map looks awesome. I am relieved to see that there will be maps of that size. :goodjob:

Well it never hurts to be positive I guess. I just think that it was confirmed somewhere, but who knows...

You can see now that there are 3 tiers in Modern era.

Judging from the slider positions of the various tech tree screens, how many tiers do you expect in the future era? I'm unsure...

EDIT: measuring from the middle of the slider to the left we have 9,5cm on my screen, and 4cm to the right. The slider position is between the first and second tier of the modern era.

With my clumsy math skills that means 13 tiers of tech are in the first 70% of the techtree, which means we should expect another 5-6 tiers in the last 30% - after the first tier of the modern era.

The modern era is known to have 3 tiers (because of the position of the "modern era" header) so we can expect another 3 to 4 tiers in the future era. We also have "future tech" confirmed, probably the only tech in the last tier.

May someone please re-check my thoughts?

Looking at this pic:

the slider looks about 3 1/2 tiers wide, there about 1 slider width left to the right of its current position, which would be half of the third tier of the modern era plus 3 tiers for the future era, although I expect the last tier just to be the single indeterminate "Future Tech" which can be researched an infinite number of times.

257:science: doesn't seem like much for a Modern tech btw, but I assume this is Settler level or so.

I...can't see the difference from the last version?

It has one more line of techs on the end, Stealth and the others next to it.

I would expect to see the same number of techs as the modern or industrial era's. Though it could be a bit less.

257 Beakers could be quite a lot, we don't know how much we will be generating,

Trapping costs 60 Beakers which is an Ancient Tech, so if these numbers are to work then I guess we won't be advancing too highly in science output.

Aw man! I just finished updating the tech tree. Now I gotta do it again. :D

We're interested to see what else 2K Games will do with Civilization V between now and the final launch, currently rumored to be in late September or early October. Our contact at 2K tells us that the technology tree is still being tweaked and polished—a nice move, as that's crucial to the balance of any Civilization game. And the multiplayer and mod functions are important components that will define the experience for many players.

we can calculate costs of units and buildings:
Worker = 35*6=210. I suppose that it is normal cost 70 multiplied by 3 because of game speed, difficulty or map size. Thus, I guess that costs are as follows:
Catapult 100 :hammers:
Chariot Archer: 60 :hammers:
Spearman 50 :hammers:
Archer 70 :hammers:
Scout 30 :hammers:
Warrior 40 :hammers:

Colosseum 150 :hammers:
Monument 60 :hammers:
Barracks 60 :hammers: (??)
Walls 100 :hammers:
Granary 100 :hammers:
