army support bug?

With the new 1.21f beta patch, military advisor always lies about how many army I can support. I only use monarchy and have more military units than allowed than free support of my government. But never seen a gold being paid to make up the difference in last two games. And also, military advisor keep telling me I can support more military. This never happened before the patch.

Either the patch screwed the unit support numbers for different gov or patch some how eliminated penalty of going over the allowed limits.

I experienced the same bug and reported it to Macsoft. At one point, I had nearly twice as many armies as I should have been able to support for free. I've never been charged for excess armies.
 
Darn! You spiiled the beans. Now they'll probably take this out of the final patch. :cry:
 
Glad it wasn't just me. Was wondering why the game got easier after the patch. I could win about 20-25% of regent level games but that number went up to over 50% after this army support bug.
 
I have just experienced this bug, but I thought that it didn't start until I encountered my 'Golden Age'.

Anyone want to confirm or deny???
 
Mine started before a Golden Age, and has continued after. I have not changed governments from Monarch yet.
 
I switched to Democracy. Yep, still not being charged for armies. It does make fighting wars as a Democracy lots easier ;)
 
I started another 1.21f Open Beta game to try to confirm that 'no units cost' bug starts during a Golden Age. Didn't start on the first turn, but did shortly afterwards.

Another bug: Enemy unit moved onto my only iron source and I could still initiate Swordsman production on my following turn.

I have reported these findings.

I think you'll find that you can continue until the enemy unit pillages the road.

Sid, that's exactly what happened. However, it is NOT the way it works in theory, and I don't think that's the way it is in Windoze 1.21.
 
I have since found that unit costs become disabled without Golden Age being in effect. Don't have a handle on this one, but Golden Age is definitely NOT the trigger. I was still a Despot.

Are there any other 1.21 open beta bugs reported by anyone??

No support cost bug:

I see it happen when I restart a game using a Saved Game. It happens now in the 1.21 beta too.

(Also in 1.17 I would have my unit suppost cost doubled! Anyone else see that one now in 1.21 or in 1.17?)

I think this "free unit" bug is also benefitting the AI civs. I can't prove it, but they seem to be generating higher profits than normal. My only clue is the gold they have on hand during negotiations.
