Array spam viable ?

So been doing Apollo very effectively with the Academy strat, but do you Guys have any idea if Array spam could as well and how you would do it ?

Only VC where that would work is (imo) Contact victory. But even then it's probably questionable.

I thought about it but the issue is that it's not hard to get the needed energy to run academies and arrays are the same distance from the center as academies so it's not any faster to get there. Plus the upgrade to arrays is a ways off too.
If they nerf academies and/or energy generation it might be and I'd like to see that but at the moment it's not viable.

The thing is that basically academies convert your gold into science for a 3for2 ratio. Arrays will give you more gold that you can't spend efficiently.

There is no better use of gold in the game in order to increase your science.

Arrays can be an alternative for horrible, food- and gold-starved starts though, as they help you support your biowells AND produce science.
