Art of the Possible

So, something I was thinking of, maybe it would be a good for monarchies to have their Heir apparent and their politics on the stats, just to know who they are.

Example, Austria Hungary's stats would be:
Austria-Hungary: Terran_Empress
Formal Name: Kingdoms and Lands Represented in the Imperial Council and the Lands of the Holy Hungarian Crown of St. Stephen
Absolute Monarchy: Emperor Franz Joseph Habsburg (Conservative)
Heir Apparent: Archduke Franz Ferdinand (Liberal) ((or at least moderate IMO))
etc.

Just a suggestion, don't need to use it, could help with stories or planing for the future.

@Bair_the_normal: Your government shall be revised per your request.

@Ahigin: Yeah, he sounds like a more interesting tsar. We can change that, but I don't think he'd qualify as a Liberal or Moderate himself, just based on his personality. With the situation Russia is in, I can't imagine the old guard and leadership allowing anything less than a conservative monarch.

@Tolni: No oil in Equatorial Guinea, unless you can prove that it was discovered/exploited prior to 1900.

@Warriorx1: Yes, Portugal still possesses their eastern African colony in Mozambique. It's on the map, I assure you.

@Terran_Empress: An excellent idea for monarchies! I'll work on getting Heir Apparents set up for all monarchies.

@Amesjay: Yes, Peru is open and all yours if you want it.

I think that the EP for Ukraine is fairly low. I am at about 10% of the army force limit, but if I use local EP to make supplies, I'd only have 1 EP left.

@theDright: That would be because of your unhealthy relationship with Poland. Perhaps you should ask your Polish lords and masters for supplies?

Canada and United States agree to Free Transit and Complete Demilitarization of Border

US-Canada relations have traditionally been very good and, indeed, after the US civil war, were cemented in blood. Since the end of the US-Confederate war, the USA has considered Canada not only a favored trading partner but an ally and friend.

To that effect, President William Bryan and Prime Minister Wilfred Laurier have agreed to greatly expand private trade and the flow of people between their nations.

Remaining military elements of the US-Canada border will be removed in their entirety and the US-Canada border will henceforth become the longest demilitarized international border in the world.

Additionally, new free transit agreements will allow much freer flow of people and goods between the nations.

Said Bryan, in response to being questioned regarding the agreement, “The 19th century saw us sow the seed of friendship, trust, and blood between we two democracies. The 20th century will see us nurture and grow that seeds into a mighty unfellable oak.”

Asked about Sir Wilfred Laurier directly, Bryan answered, “Sir Laurier is a man of integrity and sophistication and blessed by god with an intellect and wit surpassed by very few indeed. There is no finder statesmen than he and it is a pleasure to work with him; I very much enjoy my trips North."

That's fair. As for my heir apparent, please feel free to grab Grand Duke Kirill Vladimirovich (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cyril_Vladimirovich,_Grand_Duke_of_Russia). Not sure what his ideology would be, though.

@theDright: That would be because of your unhealthy relationship with Poland. Perhaps you should ask your Polish lords and masters for supplies?

So what currently is involved Background-wise with Poland? There was a mention of relying on Polish industry, but that seems more than covered by the lack of an IC stat. What else is involved to cause the reduction in EP?

Also, do we have socialists/communists in this timeline? If possible, I would like to move that they be called proletarists like in CI, because I like the term much better.

@theDright: All wealth in Ukraine eventually finds its way to Poland. Poles own the farms, businesses, and so forth in Ukraine. By relying on Polish Industry, I meant quite definitely that you would be relying upon them for production of supplies. Poland can produce the supplies you need far more cheaply and easily, and thus they can help you out, especially since you produce Fuel and Poland doesn't. Also, yes, Marx made his manifesto, rather than Martes of Capto Iugulum. There are commies and socialists aplenty in this world.

I've made a few changes to the stats, including adding heir apparents for those nations that have them.

Got my colors confused... So how "historical" is this game playing? Are we tied to historical events or are we free to make our own "within reason"? I know that the CSA being around and Napleon winning have basically changed the future but just curious as to how much of real world events will find its way here. I'm new to this, but we had a similar game on another forum I played and you were basically stuck in a historical play...

Argentina invites the nations of Great Britain and Brazil to Conference

Argentina extends the hand of peace, friendship and cooperation to the illustrious nations of The United Kingdom and Brazil. President Mitre has invited diplomats and leaders from both nations to attend the Conference to discuss the rampant instability among South American nations and will delve into other topics as well. The Conference will be behind closed doors, and the results will not be visible to other nations without the consent of all attending parties.

Well, I'd say my game philosophy is similar to that of Paradox grand strategy games: things similar to real life history can take place, but overall the course of the game will be decided by the actions of the players involved.

The Republic of Argentina offering 10 EP worth of fuel contracts to supply the Ejército with fuel over the next five years. Interested parties should discreetly contact the Ministry of War with their offers.

Yes, off-shore drilling will be possible when/if the technology is invented.

Currently, we're discussing the costs of making a project for building railroads/pipelines. Can you clarify us on this matter?

The cost of a railroad or pipeline would be dependent upon the distance you are considering and the terrain involved.
