The Great
My NES...If you've got a out of game score to settle,get the **** away from my NES...I will be the one to say who's enemies and who's friends in this piece.
This NES is based on the Epic novel,Romance of the Three Kingdoms.An old Han Emperor had grown to be a weak emperor,and a man named Zhang Jue was a graduate who spent his time solely in medicine.He had a hospital,and was known to perform many many miracles.Soon he had a following of his medicinal arts,and they were dispatched over china to perform more miracles.Soon he had a HUGE following,and was the most respected man in China,set aside the Emperor.Soon the Eunuchs that were basically like 10 prime ministers under the prime minister were ruling the country instead of the Emperor.They gave titles to those who kissed their asses,and was cruel and usually killed people who disagreed with anything they said.Zhang Jue with his brothers,Zhang Ba,and Zhang Lian rose against the emperor and the eunuchs with an army of around 200 thousand,funded by the money raised by the medicinal practices all over china by Zhang Jue's order.These rebels bore themselves with Yellow scarves,and thus were called the "Yellow Turban rebelion" by the rest of China.
The first few battles showed that the discipline and order of the Imperial soldiers were too much of a match for mere rebs.And the leaders were killed in those first battles...Little rebelions claiming the name of "Yellow Turbans" sprouted up over the empire after that,but nothing really to be reckoned with.
After that,many people had started seeking the Imperial throne for themselves,such as Dong Zhuo,who,this NES is based after he got assasinated.he burnt the old capitol of the Han,and made a new.Treated everyone with disrespect,and gave only compliments to his loyal adopted son,Lu Bu...But after stealing his adopted son's whife,Diao Chan (As a plot by Diao Chan's father to rid China of the fierce and unrelenting Dong Zhuo),Lu Bu slain his "father" and by then all the lords had gotten themselves some big heads and thought nothing but of their personal glory.
You now must take control of one of these fine leaders and lead them to the best of your ability in order to restore peace to China.
Economy-You can raise economy by assigning generals to it,and by acquiring more lands in which to drain from taxes.You collect taxes once each March
Harvest-You can raise this the same way you raise economy...Without food your men might as well bend over and kiss their asses goodbye.So take heed in that.You collect your harvest once each September
NOTE-It costs 1 gold to have an officer raise economy or harvest for that turn.The officer raises the stat by politics+charm/2...Cities are the main source of money,lands are the main source for food,so if you want money,take a city,want food,take land.
NOTE-it takes 1 food to supply 500 men for a month.
Army-Without troops your kingdom might as well bend over and kiss it's ass goodbye.You may hire volunteers,or draft.Hiring volunteers is necessary,but is costly.You may not keep a good morale while drafting,and it is rather hard to keep order within drafted troops. 100 men can be hired with 1 gold.300 men can be drafted with 1 gold.100 arms can be made with 1 gold.If you do not come up with arms for your army they'll be fighting with weapons they can from home.100 Bows are made with 1 gold.100 Crossbows are made with 2 gold.100 Arbelists (10 shot crossbows) are made with 3 gold.Catipults and other siege weapons are made with 3 gold a piece.
Navy-Simple...You can build some ships,each cost 3 gold,and each can carry 300 men.
Note-It will take an officer to gather men,or build a navy,or to build arms,or siege weapons...An officer's charm times 100 is how many men that officer may hire that turn...An officers charm times 300 is how many he may draft.Each officer may create 100 arms per 100 soldiers he has creating the arms as well.
So if you have 1000 men,and you wish for Lu Bu (Charm of 2) to hire men,he may hire 200 men that turn.If he were to draft,he would be able to draft 600.If he were to want to create crossbows,with 200 men,he could create 200 crossbows,of course with the loss of 4 gold.(Yes,bows and **** are considered "arms" as well as the regular weapon "arms")
Training-One may also train his men.Training will be on levels,and only up to 5.Hirelings start at 2,draftee's start at 1.You may train 200 men per leadership worth of men.(You may assign more than one officer to training,and as many as you'd like as long as they're not doing anything else).
Officers-You start out with a bare backbone for your country....You may search the lands for more officers,as officers will be the things that make or break your kingdom.Stats for an officer will go from 1-6,and it will be a measure of how awesome an officer is...You can give your officer a cool weapon if you wish.Officer stats look something like this:
Lu Bu
L:4 W:6 I:2 P:3 C:5
Item:Trident Halberd
L=Leadership-The ability primarily used in the field of battle.Being able to onstruct plans in which to smash one's enemy is an important fear in battle.
W=War-One's ability to smash people by one's self.Low,war means you can't fight...High war means you're a tough mother****er to deal with.If you can fight amungst your front lines,then your troops would be encouraged to fight better as well,whereas a general who sits behind doesn't have the moral boost as someone leading in the front lines.
I=Intelligence-The ability to be devious,and cunning.You can devise traps for your enemy and see your way out of traps that the enemies put you in.
P=Politics-You're very adept in the ways of management,and know how put to good use something that is otherwise unuseable...One with high Politics is better at raising the economy or harvest because of this.
C=Charm-How well you portray yourself to others.Either in persuasion,or trying to raise an army.if you have a high charm you can make give your troops high moral,and suffer less penalty when drafting.
Officer creation-If for some god damn reason you feel like creating your own beatofficer(Maybe you wish to be an officer roaming around,or raise a mercinary army...One may not wish to rule lands...Rules for someone like this will be presented to you further down.) put all the stats at 2,and raise up to 10 points...Like say I wanted to do something like this:
Amon Wei
L=2 W=2 I=2 P=2 C=2
Now I can add 10 to them either way I wish.
Amon Wei
L=5(+3)W=4(+2)I=5(+3)P=2(+0)C=4(+2)
If you feel like not ruling lands for some odd damn reason,you may work for other rulers,or live off the lands you guys happen to be in at the time.One can be a marauding band of Bandits that loot and pillage wherever they go...You can still look for other officers.You can band up with PC officers to create a big mercinary army of bastards who just don't give a ****...Only 3 PC officers may band up in this method though.
