I've seen many threads on the topic of what civs have been left out, but i have never heard mention of the assyrians. They should at least be worthy of consideration, they conquered a vast empire consisting of all of Mesopotamia and ancient Eygpt around 700 BC. They built roads and improved trade throughout their lands as well as deporting differnet peoples to different areas effectively destorying those civilizations. The Babylonians ruled the same area for less time and their included in the game. (I know about the law code and other important advancements but its possible that the assyrians had huge influnce on those documents considering they ruled the babylonians for over a century)

Actually the Code of Hammurabi was set down in the Old Babylonian Empire, which came before the Assyrians (or at least the important part of the Assyrian Empire (Mesopotamian history is fairly intricate, you might want to read up on it and not take my word for it)). Generally the first Babylonian Empire had a huge influence on the Assyrians, not the other way around.
What the Assyrians did was centralize more than the Babylonians. They were also better warmongerers and the deportations was a military/strategic stroke of genius.
However, I think that the reason they are not included (and probably won't be later) is that we already have the Sumerians and Babylonians from the same area, culture and (roughly) time.
