Auto Bombard

It orders your artillery unit to bombard the selected square every turn without having to order it.
I've never used it but I would imagine it could be useful in a drawn out siege :rolleyes:
 
Yeah, like when you bring over 50 artillery in an attempt to redline all of the defenders and then destroy improvments, it would take quite a while to fire all of them each turn.
 
Never use it.

But then again I never use the anything auto.

But sometimes I'll hit the auto bomb for a bomber or fighter by mistake and I forget it for a while after its bombed an enemy city for 10 straight turns.
 
It can also be useful for any modpack that has bombard-able units with the "blitz" ability : hitting shift-b once and then watching the fireworks of several shots is much easier than hitting B as many times in a row as your blitz artillery has move points.
 
Since the vast majority of players try to capture cities in 1 turn, auto-bombard is pretty useless, espcially considering that units heal between rounds.

The only time I have ever used it is when I have a couple ships trying to bombard a coastal resource or lux. Frigates in particular have a very low bombard value and it's quite annoying to have to command it over and over.

Units only heal fully on one turn if there is a barracks in town.
