Automerging of posts?

Shoving spam together does not reduce or prevent spam. It's nothing but make-up.

You think it does not change (serious) messages, but yet you think it does change spammy messages. Does it change messages or not? Your call!
I don't think it does change spammy messages. Unfortunately, one of the main motivators for spam is post-count. If people know that successive spam posts are going to be shoved together into one post, it hopefully reduces the incentive to post them in the first place. They are two different issues.

By the way - I don't actually care about post-count - its the spam count that I would like to see reduced.

Hmm, I think I am getting the point a bit now.
If people will indeed spam less, as quick spam posts won't help them in their efforts to increase their postcounts, it indeed is a benefit.
I never had the idea this forum is that spammy. Or maybe I just read over it?

Yet, most short posts are serious ones though.

I still dislike it :) !

Hm, I just noticed a post one minute after another post, and they didn't get automerged, perhaps there is some way around it that hasn't been thought of by TF? :)

Check post #58 of this thread:

Oops

This thread got too big, I thought I had read it all :)

I thought it was a pretty nice thing, although it makes not much difference for me personally :)
