Because Gandhi has been tampering with it. I think I still have the original around somewhere in my hard drive...

perhaps my mistake.. BUT if you play around with it as a ping, and once happy save it as a jpeg.. you don't get as much loss.

perhaps my mistake.. BUT if you play around with it as a ping, and once happy save it as a jpeg.. you don't get as much loss.

I play around with it as .psp so I don't lose the layers. I always keep the .psp workfiles around. Never know when you need to alter something.

If .png's are allowed you'll never get an .jpg avatar from me again.

you can use png's in the same sense that you can measure the size of the universe down to the meter. It's theoretically possible, but it's just so big that you can rarely ever do it.

Decrease color depth . I don't know if it's any better than .gif, but that's how I get gif files under the 4kb. Yes you may lose some colors, but rarely the effect is noticeable. At least it looks better than .jpg artifacts.

Since I saw PNG nice effects, I started to use it instead of gif´s. And the trick is decreasing the color depth as Rheinmetall says. How did you never noticed? I only use pngs for a long time now

For transparent usually, if not usually high quality jpg´s. Almost never gifs.

Still without computer with my programs...
