Avatar of Wrath - is this supposed to happen?

So, I was playing a custom game with the "End of Days" option enabled, as I'd never played a game where the AC got all that high and I wanted to see what happened. :) It hit 90, and the Avatar of Wrath spawned, and most of my guys got Enraged and started running around looking for stuff to kill. Surprising, but in line with the Pedia entry.

What was weird, though, was that the next turn I finished two wonders - Celestial Compass and Aquae Sucellus - that I didn't even start! My build queue was changed the turn before, and my enraged Great Engineers sacrificed themselves to create them. And it's not that I changed it and then forgot - in one city I was working on the Tower of Divination and would have preferred that to have been randomly rushed! The other city was a backwater conquered town that would definitely have not been my first choice for a wonder. Was this supposed to happen - both the queue changing and the enraged Great Engineers sacrificing themselves for the buildings?

Another thing is that I had a Shadow go enraged and go off and kill a guy in my vassal nation. No biggie, but then the next turn his Horse Archer killed the Shadow. WTH? I thought they were invisible. Does Enraged give units the ability to see invisible guys?

Finally, is there an option to raze your own city that I don't know about? Or can the barbarians/horsemen choose to raze their own cities? I ask because I found Acheron jealously guarding the ruins of a city. o.O

Thanks!

Yeah, those engineers can be funky. Once I had an AI Great Engineer run into one of my cities(we weren't even on the same team) and build The Great Library when I was working on a granary the turn before.

Invisible units can be seen by Hawks, Floating Eyes, Deis Dei, units with the Perfect Sight promotion or the Revelation spell. If the AI had one of these it's likely they could very well see your shadow.

Finally, the 4 horsemen(and maybe Wrath, I duno about him) raze any cities they're in at the end of the turn. One might have wandered into Archeron's city, razed it, and left Archeron standing there.
