AZ-01: Donut World

Second game sounds cool, to be honest I haven't played many archipelago games.
Got it, will play later when I have more time.

you couldn't have gotten monarchy from fred if you'd waited to trade until after hatty was dead. at that point, it would be a monopoly tech for him. so if you're going to make trades in situations like that, trade with your pal before you kill off your victim.

thanks for the reminder.

i have come to really enjoy them.

Turn 1
- Move troops, kill barbarians, assign workers... God, we have too many workers!
- As an evil man I am, I tributed those 260gold from Fredrick rather than trade :mischief:

Turn 2
- ZZZ

Turn 3
- ZZZ

Turn 4
- Machinery comes in, put science glider to 0%. We get +58 gold per turn. Plan is to start building macemen for Alex and attack Frederick asap once I get eastern troops on border.
- We almost lost Susa to barbarian archer haha! Our brave lonely warrior defends Susa and wins. That archer actually had 4,9% chances of winning. Poor guy. First seemed like more weedy move than it actually was :smoke:

Turn 5
- WARZ.
- Trade Alex fur to our wheat
- Raze Essen

Turn 6
- barbarian swordmen kills our best promotes swordsmen.... I accidentally moved all units already and couldn't save him. In normal game i'd just reload from one turn ago but I guess that's no-no in sgs. Sorry guys
- Capture Cologne.

Turn 7
- Kill frederick settler party going out

Turn 8
- Zzz

Turn 9
- We build Hanging Gardens I ordered a few turns earlier. Start making macemen again.
- Razed Munich.

I stop here to make those turns even. There are cats coming from west and no more troops coming to this assault from east. You should take care of Freddys north city as some point, I found it with scout which died there. Capture Hamburg with eastern troops and go for Berlin with western (you can wait for few more cats to arrive, I was impatient!). I started Forbidden Palace in Memphis (distance from palace gold loss 17!). Overall, boring turnset and I made some weedy moves, but dont worry we can take em at this point.

Can we finish this before second turnset is over???

Good going. We don't really need all those Immortals, once Freddy falls I suggest we disband most of them to make more money and upgrade swordsmen to macemen. Seems to be mostly cleanup left before the eventual conquest victory.

THE ROSTER:

azaris
Orion071
dawn
Sealot (just played)
Aoxomoxoa (UP for 10 turns of destroying Germans)
eznihm (on deck)
Codeman

If you thought we had too many Workers, imagine how I felt. I probably disbanded at least 10 of them myself. They're not entirely useless now. They should be building roads so the Cataputs don't have to slog through the forest 1 space at a time like they are now. We need to get some roads to Alex and get some troops in position. I don't want to have to play this game again. Let's win this thing already!

I can't believe the 1st Imperial Swordman has fallen. :( As a Combat 1, CR3 Maceman, he would have been unstoppable. Needless to say, the Swordsmen in Cologne should all be upgraded to Macemen immediately. We don't need to disband any Immortals since we have enough money now to upgrade and Swordsmen and keep everything else.

I love getting the 260g from Fred as tribute rather than selling him a tech. +1 style point for Sealot. You would have gotten 3 style points if you declared war on him right after that anyway instead of waiting a couple of turns.

Some of our cities are in big-time unhappiness right now. I know it doesn't matter for this game, but for others games you've got to watch out for that kind of thing and change some tiles around to prevent it. I maximixed the growth in Memphis during my turnset, but it shouldn't have been allowed to spawn 3 unhappy citizens by now. And it's still growing!

Yeah, I think Codeman or his 3-year-old could finish this one off, even with his diminshed reading comprehension skills. ;)

Kill Fred, kill Alex, win. :spank: :ar15: :sniper: :hammer: :whipped:

ok then. it's seems like i just played...:hmm: that's how busy my week was. :) got it.

spending time with family so may not play until tomorrow. if time presents itself will play tonight.

Turn 1 - 880 AD - Troops moving, rushes 3 maceman.

Turn 2 - 900 AD - More troop movements. Killed misc. barbs.

Turn 3 - 920 AD - Swords an cats take and raze Hamburg. Lost 3 Immortals. On to Berlin!

Turn4 - 940 AD - Troops moving into position, disbanded 6 workers from Germany. Killed misc. barbs.

Turn 5 - 960 AD - Bombardment begins. Killed misc. barbs.

Turn 6 - 980 AD - Berlin falls, lost two Imoortals. On to Frankfort.

Turn 7 - 1000 AD - Troops on the move. Killed misc. barbs. Lost a wounded Immortal to a German cat, took it down.

Turn 8 - 1010 AD - Troop movements.

Turn 9 - 1020 AD - Barb snags a lone worker, oh the humanity!

Turn 10 - 1030 AD - Macemen make a mockery of Frankfort soFrederick and Germany is no more.

Lots of troops all over the place, many healing. Tried to get all the barbs I could, there's a bunch wandering around. I just kept spamming macemen in production, and onward to Alex.

Aoxo

We could build the Chicken Pizza for fun and profit. Stick a fork in this game, it's done. The next player has permission to play this game to the end. If you're busy, say the word and I'll finish off ol'Alex.

THE ROSTER:

azaris
Orion071
dawn
Sealot
Aoxomoxoa (just played)
eznihm (dropped out)
Codeman (UP for the rest of the game)

azaris, i'm really sorry for not getting my set done sooner. if you can play it out that would be ok. had to take my daughter to the hospotal, 103.6 fever, then work all day. i'm really tired and am on my way to bed. if you haven't played when i get up i'll see if i can do some damage.

Alright, let's do this thing.

1030 AD: The world is ripe for taking. Let's do it now. Start Chichen Itza to get some extra points. Karakorum is running scientists. :smoke: Remove them there and elsewhere. Micromanage all our angry citizens to starve and shave off a few turns on Forbidden Palace and other stuff.

There are a bunch of barbs pillaging around and are troops are galloping on goto orders towards Greece. Pasaragadae is defended by a single warrior and has a barb swordsman next to it. Priorities, people, priorities. I organize some homeland defense. 5th Immortals of Persepolis win against a barb sword on 23% odds. I have to whip a crossbowman in Memphis because it has a barb axe and archer in the fat cross.

Maceman loses to barb sword at 87.5% odds. :gripe: Forget about killing Alexander, we're going to be conquered by barbarians if we defend like this.

1070 AD: Alexander completes Great Lighthouse.

1110 AD: Chichen Itza completes. Good thing too, I was worried we were going to be run over by barbs. :run:

1130 AD: I have enough of a SoD to take Athens. Declare on Alexander.

1150 AD: A CR III mace raizes Olmec in the mountains south of Greece.

1160 AD: Forbidden Palace completes. Alexander has crossbowmen and my macemen can't take Sparta now. I suicide a couple of catapults on Athens and take it with the CR maces. Must remember to send a thank you note to Alex for the Pyramids. I adopt Police State. Athens also has The Great Wall, so nyah to the barbs.

1170 AD: Harappan has longbowmen. OK, this could get annyoing yet.

1180 AD: Timur dies to a Greek crossbowman. Farewell, noble warrior.

1120 AD: I suicide a couple of catapults on Corinth.

1130 AD: Corinth is razed.

1270 AD: Argos falls and we have the most useless Great Lighthouse ever. Alex has three cities left, I have no idea where Knossos is. Tipu Sultan builds the Kong Miao.

civ4screenshot0025jd1.jpg

1300 AD: Find Knossos. This was Spartaaaaaa!

1310 AD: Leonidas is holding up the fort in Knossos.

1330 AD: Immortals rush Leonidas' army and raze Knossos. One city left.

1350 AD: The longbowmen in Harappas sally forth to die in the hands of my Immortal scouting outside the sieged city. Well that should make things a bit easier.

1380 AD: Harappan and the Greek Civilization are no more. Persia wins a conquest victory.

It took 250 years to kill Alexander??? Cyrus seems to have dozed off while waiting for it to end. Good work everyone. Save included for posterity.

Excellent game.

Some stats:
Immortals: built 64, lost 56
Cats: built 32, lost 19
Mace: built 58, lost 7

Build 3 cities and razed 26! :hammer:

What did we build?
Courthouses and barracks = 8
Librarys = 7

No we did more than that. We built some Axes and Swords too. We probably didn't have too many more buildings, though. Maybe some Granaries? Anyway, a nice quick win after some initial difficulties finding horses. Who knew it would be so hard to get horses on a Great Plains map?

Yeah, there were other builds in there. Those were simply the top units and buildings.

And that's actually 8 courthouses and 8 barracks.
