Balance - Fewer Weak Wonders

These are more general modding question, than specifically targetted at this mod, but I love your mods, so here goes.

If you release a new version of a mod, is there a way to know that, other than constantly checking the Mod Browser or this forum?
It would be great, if the mods in my mod-list would light up and warn me, that a new version is available.

Also, if an update is avaiable, and I get it, should I remove the old one? If so, will it break any saved games?
Can I continue my saved games with "Fewer Bad Wonders v. 6" when I had v. 4 before, for example?

Thanks! :)

This is likely why Chichen Itza is now considered so powerful and Pyramids are so weak. If the effects were swapped around near the end of development, they didn't have sufficient time to balance and play-test these wonders sufficiently.

I like a lot of your changes but I do not agree that the pyramids are considered universally weak. I've found them just fine myself. I would leave them off a fix list myself.

@Mwellrett
Thank you for identifying that problem! I'll fix it right away.

@Herex
Kael mentioned in his mod thread there's supposed to be an automatic-update system with the mod browser... might just not be implemented yet.

Yes, when you get a new version to any mod you should delete the old ones. There's some minor issues with not doing so, where the old version will show up on your mod list instead of the new one, and the new one might not be enabled. You can continue your save games with the new versions.

I agree the Pyramids are useful, but you have to consider it in context. Stonehenge and the Great Library are usually considered significantly more powerful and cost less :hammers:. Stonehenge gives you a massive early culture boost for a very low cost, allowing significant social policy jumps. The Great Library can be used for the civil service or Aesthetics slingshots. Pyramids simply gives you an extra few :commerce:/turn because you don't need to field as many workers (and lets you hook up resources slightly sooner). The benefit lasts the whole game yes, but due to the amplifying effect of early gains on late-game potential, Stonehenge and the GL provide exponential gains for their low cost. This is reason for selecting the particular wonders on this list: weaker than their contemporaries.
