Quick question on barb city captures!

If we start with a standard barb city with 4 archers, on flat land.

How many units would you build to capture it?

How many do you need to have near certain odds of capture?

My experience is that 4 swords should be fine, but 5 is completely safe. Does that tally?

My sword-on-barb-archer attacks are usually in the low 70%'s. So I would go with at least 6.

With barbarians if you get unlucky on your attack, you can often finish up the next turn with what's left of your force. They're not going to move in more defenders and they're very slow to build new units, though it could happen.

If there are other civs parked next to the city, you have to be a lot more careful. Don't weaken the city so they can take it on their turn with one or two units!

If you're unlucky you'll end up with four dead swordsman and a couple of CG barb archers.

If you have a catapult should make it easier. Pends how many promo your units have. Even at 90-95% odds you can get unlucky. Or you play the game let the AI attack and steal city, That can sometimes fail. Another great reason to build quechua with Incans. Losing 4-5 of them is only 75 hammer loss.
