BARON DUIN HALFMORN does not have hero promotion

The Baron, and werewolves, change in execution depending also on what mod you are playing.

For example, in Fall Further, Baron-created werewolves are immediately controllable with a small chance of going berserk, but also suffer an initial strength penalty. So you have a certain amount of time to get them blooded before they wild/berserk, but it's harder with a decreased stength, but then again they gradually gain additional strength through victories...

And they still get metal promotions. In FF, werewolves take that unit for yourself.

Baron is sick in FF. Even if you get bad luck with generating werewolves, there's still the way his strength ramps up as he kills things. There's a cap, but it's higher than that of most civ/religious unique heroes.

With the AI now spamming warriors well into the late game, you can get a lot of use out of the Baron and the werewolves he creates.

I just had him take down a technologically backward but territorially large Clan of Embers by himself. The AI doesn't like to dogpile anymore so they wont send their stack of warriors against my single baron because of their bad odds. Attacking, then using sirinoras touch to heal meant he just kept geting XP and creating wearwolves that would probably win against a warrior and perhaps make even more wearwolves. After a few turns of this cities started falling randomly, and the clan was desperate to capitulate.

I think he's good so long as you have a target for him. He's much stronger in J than he used to be since the AI wont dogpile him anymore.
