BAT 2.0 vs. BetterAI

Despite the many threads on the topic BetterAI <-> BUG/BULL/BAT, I couldn't find any info on this and I'd like to know before I install 3.19 and the new BAT mod:

Is it possible to use BAT 2.0 and replace the dll with the one from BetterAI?
I know that BULL won't be there anymore after that but will changing the dll break other stuff as well?

You should be able to swap out the BULL DLL for the BBAI one with no trouble.

ok, I just tried this, and first thing i noticed is that advanced combat odds no longer works. Lots of other BAT components work, not sure what else doesnt tho.

BBAI includes the UP fixes, too. You lose Advanced Combat Odds because that's in BULL and BBAI doesn't include it. When I get some time I'll be working on a BBAI + BULL merge.

will it take long? How about next releases? Shouldn't you talk to the BBAI guys and set a common front on this?

To tell you the truth, I play with BUG and BBAI since, I don't know, eons, I don't remember vainilla games and how they are anymore, anyways, the point is that the Civ4 experience with BUG and BBAI together is probably the best since 1991 (yes, I'm a veteran in these powerful addiction)... so, the natural course is to merge them, definitively.

What about the rest of the mergeinstructions that BBAI has with BUG. Do BBAI work by only copying the .dll or what other elements are needed?

What part of the instructions, found HERE, can you leave out if I installed BAT as a standalone MOD and wants to install BBAI to the same place?

Also in some thread I read someone who seemed to have insight said that Blue Marble is better of installed alone before BAT mod cause the BAT mod Blue Marble did not include everything or something.

At the moment I have BAT working with only replacing the .dll with the BBAI .dll but I don't wanna start if the AI is screwed now or something.

If you are looking primarily for the smarter AI portion of BBAI, you can just replace the BAT DLL with its DLL as you've done.

BAT 2.0 is missing the relatively minor but latest VD (7.5) changes...This always happens to BAT, it can get behind, just FYI...

VD has been updating frequently. I don't like taking Mods that are too new, and adding them to BAT, for stability reason. BAT will continue it's current 3-6 month release cycle... Maybe we'll have VD 8.0 by then?
