I've played a fair bit of Batman: Arkham Origins this weekend. Here's my review.
Did you really, really like the basic gameplay and setting of the previous Arkham entries? If so, then go get this one.
Did you dislike the previous Arkham entries or had enough? Then avoid this one.
If you didn't play any of the previous Arkham games then go and pickup Arkham City.
That's pretty much it. Arkham Origins is basically the same as the previous games, particularly Arkham City. No real innovation. Indeed, it might be a step backward based on a few changes from the old game (less difficult predator levels, a few minor combat changes, no riddles to take photos of).
The multiplayer is interesting. Each game has eight players, six split between two bands of crooks that play as over the shoulder shooters and two as Batman and Robin. The addition of Batman and Robin provide an interesting and novel third party to involve itself in an otherwise team shooter match.
