Battlefield 3

All of last night I listend to my friends play(in an Xbox party) and it was nothing but smack talk and swearing so it's a must buy for me:lol:

I get my copy tonight but I can't play it because I lack my Xbox

What a fun game-

this game is so far worth standing for a solid 2 hours to get.BTW i suck with jets...ive crashed like 5 times into trees and buildings.did manage to get a kamikaze kill one time though

The single player sure is dull. Normally I wouldn't even bother to play it but with the servers being down what feels like 90% of the time I had little choice. Almost makes me wonder if that was EA's plan....

I don't know if there is one. I posted that video to make fun of the game because that is what I had experienced when I played the Caspian Border Beta.

I am still at the fence on whether to buy this or MW3. Or skip all of them and hide out in LA Noir, Skyrim, and maybe Saints Row 3.

And I am not sure I like the idea of having Origin installed, since I already got Steam.

I did find a video for all the voice command here:

No mines here. I think he used another audio track from another game.

I'm in the same boat as you with Origin. I kind of dread the multiplication of platforms and software. I'll probably get the game and never use Origin except when I really have to. I doubt they'll turn out as many deals and games as Steam.

So yeah, I'll probably get it... Along with every other game you mentioned (except MW3... And I'll probably get LA Noire when it's like 15$...).

Seems funny, except I haven't played the game yet so I have no idea. Does the game warn you with a voice when there are mines around? Where does the sound bit come from.

?

The mines in BC2 were really annoying. I hope there's a better system to detect them in BF3 if they're included.

Wow, so much for beta's ironing out the details.

That's what the Vehicle Electronics Package was for. Never leave home in an armoured vehicle without it. Unfortunately I don't think BF3's Proximity Scan detects explosives in addition to nearby enemy personnel.

Anyway, I was finally able to connect and play some games. Face-meltingly awesome. It's amazing how large and loaded (with vehicles) some of the maps are. An assault carrier chock-full of amphibious IFVs, jet fighters, and helicopters. And that's just the starting point. Just because of that Conquest is more fun than Rush to me now. I had so much fun rampaging with a LAV-25. And I almost got MVP in another game.

@Loppa_Torkel

well that finally makes sense, I thought they were talking about proximity mines and I was confused (yet still found this funny for some reason). I saw Finding Nemo long ago... Dubbed in French so had never heard this.

Should've clarified.. I only play Vietnam. Not sure if there are any anti measures against mines in that version, but I'll check next time.

Nice to hear you like the game. I'm pondering whether I should get it or not. It's probably a great game, but in modern era and large battlefields it has a tendency of becoming a sniper fest even with ordinary guns and it's so much quicker with the modern vehicles.

..and you have to devote more time now to be competitive with the upgrade system. :undecide:

Sadly, only your eyes and your weapons are effective measures there.

If you do, stick to the larger maps with vehicles like Kharg Island and Caspian Border. Avoid camp-fests like Damavand Peak and Operation Metro. It's pretty hard to be a bush wookie with an armoured vehicle breathing down your neck.

"LET'S DO THIS YEAHHH!"

*BUMP* *BUMP* "Uh, guys?"

"Oh, right sorry we forgot you can't walk through doors, here you go."

EDIT: I didn't encounter this bug while playing.

Well the singleplayer campaign isn't bad, but it isn't anything that hasn't really been done before. I still enjoyed it. Now to play multiplayer, which is why everyone bought the game anyway :p

I'd like to remind everyone of the importance of spotting enemy air assets so friendly air assets have a much easier time fighting for air superiority.
