Bede's Refectory Table-Game Discussion

What are the least played of the original 16? Aztecs, English, Egypt, Zulu. Most folks hate their UUs. Although I am presently playing games with the English and Zulu.

Overplayed: Persia, Babylon, Iroquois, France, Germany.

Average: Rome, Japan, America, China, India, Greece

Underplayed: Aztecs, English, Zulu, Egypt, Russia

Playing as Russia or Greece would be cool. I've never played as Russia, and only in GOTM21 as Greece. That was July 2003.

If we play Deity, we wouldn't need much of a variant, since the original Deity is pretty hard.

So, Deity in vanilla with Russians on a small map, average conditions, continents (no more islands unless its a seafaring civ for this sailor), anything else you can think of?

I agree with no more islands. Now we just need about three more people willing to yank their hair out.

I thought I'd send invites to the SGOTM3 gang. There is at least three masochists in tha bunch. Just have to hope they are not bald already.

I know R&L was looking for a game. I bet G-man and Denyd are crazy enough to jump on this one.

R&L, denyd and Ankka are in. Thread goes up tonight. Think five will do it as it is a small map.

scoutsout has already expressed interest and Team Bede from SGOTM4 have received invitations to the dance but if there is additional interest I would not be averse to hosting two games :crazyeye:

:wavey: Allow me to welcome you this happy band o' bandits, el filet.

Skillet or Spoon?

I have some interest. It will be quite a challenge on Emperor. So, if there's room (after el filet of course), I would join. :)

edit: Just saw your post - I have interest in the first one, the skillet.
edit2: I was just reading the sample game you posted - we can capture cities; ok, that makes it a bit more interesting. :crazyeye:

Howdy, GA.

You're in the frying pan, depending on what the Team Bede crowd decides. I owe them a game so they have first choice.

knocking the rust off my sword....

Edit: very slight preference for the 'greasy spoon' start.

@scout,

Two OBC variants, Cast Iron Skillet(hot and dry) and Bede's Greasy Spoon (cold and dry), Emperor, Babylon

I'd play either of those. I like the looks of the "greasy spoon" start, but "cast iron skillet" sounds too cool. :D

s'right, you're in the skillet. The posted start is only a sample of 5. Once a roster is together we can pick the one we want. All land conditions and opponenets are the same, only variable was the barbarian acitivity.

@el filet,
S'right, hoss. You're in the frying pan. I hope to hear from the Team Bede crowd today and as soon as I do will put up the thread with a roster.

Count me in please.

I'm leaning towards the skillet game, as it should have more jungle and less tundra. I really don't like tundra. :crazyeye:
