Beginner Question about Downloads

Hi- I just bought Galactic Civilizations 2 and I'm reading the manual. I've seen all the many downloads at the official website and I was wondering if there is any reason not to download them all. My version now reads Version 1.1 Beta 3a. Is this right for a beginner? Also, is the manual that comes with the game still accurate after downloading all these downloads? Thanks in advanced for your reply.

I downloaded all of the extras and didn't see any at this point that people might not want to use.

The 1.1 as of now is still in Beta.

The manual should be accurate in most ways, but any specific upgrade may change some individual feature and make that small part of the manual obsolete. IMHO this is a small price to pay in exchange for new features and better game-balancing corrections.

Hmm... Being a beginner, I would not have downloaded the 1.1. It's still a BETA and thus still subject to some change.
But I think the final version of the patch 1.1 should be up any minute now, right Mr. Wardell? You are reading this, right...?

1.1 final version will be released next week, per GC official site, due to a few more tweaks being implemented, and another piece of software they're finishing up.
