Yes, Mussolini without his hat looked like Alexei Sayle. That's probably why he wore one.

That looks pretty good to me, although of course it's not really Il Duce without a strange expression of some kind.

Despite the stereotypical image of Benito doing his "lip" thing, it's surprisingly hard to find a picture of him actually doing it. You always imagine him sticking his bottom lip out but in fact in most pictures he tends to stick them both out, as if pursing them. The best I could find was this -

New preview in first post of all eras, though some are still lacking backdrops. I will start working on the expressions now, so expect a few previews tomorrow

Perhaps some headgear for at least one of the 3 bald eras? Also, I'd bring the camera closer. It's ok to stay further away when the model has a large hat or big funky hair, but the bald Mussolini looks very lonely right now. It's his face that people are interested in, not clothes or background - bring the camera closer.

Now that the face is good, you could add some kind of hair for the other ages.
For the modern, the hat needs more detail (the eagle seems a Batman's bat)

By the way, the fascist clothes must be in the modern age (don't worry about Rufus)

Very nice! Especially that angry mood. Although, his eyes seem to look a bit down when he's happy. It's as if he's talking with a beautiful woman and has let his eyes wander.

I suppose the eagle logo can't be made clearer? It's a bit fuzzy.

Also, as a rule of thumb, backgrounds should be softened a bit in order to mimic viewer's eye's focusing on the leader. Too sharply detailed backgrounds don't act as backgrounds, but rather compete with the leaderhead itself for attention.

LOL! I completely forgot to rise his eyes a bit when he's happy. I'll fix that, and probably change his expression a bit, since I can't get used to looking at it without thinking it does look weird.

About the eagle logo... well, I'll do my best to sharpen it a bit, but since the original image is not too good (I had to take it from a colour pic of Mussolini, and not from a pic of the logo itself), it won't probably change too much.

And thanks for the suggestion about the background... I'll soften it a bit now

You've done great !!

The only comment I'd make is about the medieval era. There's a dark area around his head which is where, presumably, a window or a painting should be, but it looks like an ill-fitting wig. Change that part of the wall to a red wall, like the area around it, and you're onto a winner IMHO.

Thanks! But you don't need to worry about that painting anymore, since I changed the background in that era. Also I did add some little hair in all eras previous to the modern one (but he still keeps most of his head bald), and I turned that hair a bit longer on the Mid ages, in a style reminiscent of Lorenzo's di Medici (whose pic I got from Rufus)

You should expect some final previews later tonight, and hopefully a download link by tomorrow

Great suggestion! I was actually about to make an alternative modern one with a normal suit while I waited for the FTP access password, but I think I'll go with your idea. Thank you very much!

Theyre great, I agree! Both ancient and medieval Benito's will be very useful as there are never enough to go around.

Just a thought, but It would eb kinda nifty to incorporate the Fascist Eagle into some of the other eras.. like engraved on one of the big metal buttons in the ancient Era. But it be purley asethetic.
