Esteemed All Other Games regulars, what games for the PS3 would you call superior to all the rest?

I don't care about the genre either, I just want GOOD GAMES.

Battlefield: Bad Company 2... it doesn't come out till march, but a friend of mine has played the beta and says it's great.

AC2 is good fun as well, and borderlands is great if you have a friend to play it with (surprisingly i found that split screen - which i normally dislike - is very enjoyable).

happy gaming :)

Huh, I played the beta for a bit too, wasn't really all that impressed. Partly because I was trying to play an FPS on a console, but actually I think that is half the problem. Having a common average of maybe 10 players on the server it really didn't feel like much of a battle. The destruction of buildings is nice though. If I did get it however I'd stick with PC. Less auto-aim.

Though worth a look. Especially if they added more maps, playing the same one over and over was boring (this was back in November/December).

I like FIFA2010. Great fun with a friend, though seeing as you're from egghand land its probably not your cup o tea.

I actually would be very interested in an anklesphere game, it might be possible if I can swing 3 games instead of 2.

I'll keep those options in mind! For some reason though, the acronym AC2 isn't ringing a bell.

i know you would never consider getting an fps on the console though, so this wasn't aimed at you. from what my friend said, he didn't seem to think the battles were too small/slowpaced (and he comes from the call of duty side rather than the battlefield side).

InFamous, Call of Juarez:Bound in Blood, Saints Row 2, Little Big Planet, Prototype

Bayonetta is also said to be pretty good, but I didn't get my hands on it yet.

I've never really played a Battlefield game either, it wasn't slow paced it was just underpopulated.

Ermm.....ummm.....Little Big Planet and Dead Space. Everything else just kinda....meh.

Gran Turismo 5

Killzone 2, Metal Gear Solid 4 is a must-have. Fallout 3 if you're into RPG's. FIFA10 and Madden10 if you like sports.

Armored Core 2

originally released on ps2 but ps3 can still play it, right? ;)

Only 2nd gen PS3s from 2007 can play PS2 games, and they are no longer in production. However according to wikipedia all PS3s can play Playstation 1 games.
