Best way to do a Civil Service slingshot?

I've done a Civil Service slingshot both ways - with a Great Prophet (Meditation and CoL before Masonry) and with The Oracle. Once I could even discover Philosophy with the Oracle afterwards, and be able to research Nationalism in 1000BC! Which way is better?

Are you on BTS? I just used BUG mod to have some test. It doesn't sound like you can pop it with any GP soon enough nowadays... GPr requires all then researched to Theology, and GS requires you even researched Music...

GM will bulb CS after currency and MC (need maths for CS of course).

Great Prophet is before Masonry, I said that in the post. Mathematics is only needed on BtS, I normally play Vanilla. In BtS, it just takes 20-30 turns longer, to research Mathematics (Epic speed).

So many variables unknown. Pends what your plan is and difficulty level. I assume you have a plan.

Maybe you should be moving up a level if these bulbs are so easy? You won't get many games on immortal where you can oracle philosophy. Not without 2-3 strong early commerce tiles.

In BTS the great prophet will just bulb masonry if you don't have it yet. I refer to this often: Great People Tech Preferences
