Beta 12

I will do some of the "unique" mercs. Should they be visible in the civilopedia, or should we hide them, like corsairs etc? I hope I can do some of it this weekend.

I think special Mercs should be visible in the civilopedia, just add a note that those are merc only units.

Keshiks and Seljuks are also visible, right?

No. Those aren't. Although you can see them, if you do some effort.

After playing Morholts modmodmod I think two civs that actually made a nice addition was Tunisia and Novgorod. His mod is interesting as a experiment how to improve this mod.

But just lets go for v1.0 first!

I'm kind of insulted by that "graphic people" comment :p
Anyway, these are the lines I already planned on putting into the major changes part of the changelog:
- Updates to quite a few leader attitudes and memories - it will result in more dinamically changing relations between the civs
- Revised most civs settler and war maps (in light of the new city name maps)
- These last two things along with 3Miro's AI regions and AI tweaks will finaly result in more wars with a much more competent AI

I will finish my changes regarding these in a week
Speaking of art, I would also like to replace Catherine and Barbarossa when melcher kurzer releases it

You are right, I should have said "artistic".

When you are updating the attitude, keep in mind that the current svn version isn't well balanced. I hope to fix that in the next couple of days.

I will finish my changes regarding these in a weak tops
Speaking of art, I would also like to replace Catherine and Barbarossa when melcher kurzer releases it

Sounds good to me.

What if we add a new category for mercenaries in the civilopedia?

How did you fix the pathing bug, 3Miro?

What do you want to change about Poland's UHVs? They seem good enough. Lithuania's #2 UHV could be changed to "Control the most territory in X".

Edit: I get a CTD when starting as Austria, during the autoplay.

I didn't. The areas let the AI make better decisions on what and how to settle/invade, however, the pathing bug is still there. I don't know what causes the bug, it seem random to me. Maybe it is due to mixing too many units of different speed.

I don't like the "produce the most food between xxx and xxx". While historic, it seems very artificial. What if Sweden doesn't invade, then how hard is it to achieve the goal.

Your idea about Lithuania sounds better, however, does it overlap with Poland or Hungary. I don't want to have two "become the largest country in Europe" UHV conditions.

Which version do you use, latest svn?

@AbsintheRed: yes

@3Miro: maybe you missed my earlier post? The bug isn't a bug it's a feature from Rhye, check CvSelectionGroup.cpp and look for canMoveThrough, there's a cap on the number of units you can move at once, it's 10 in RFCE, 20 in SoI.

You're probably right about the food one. The issue with Poland, Hungary, Lithuania and Moscowy is that they really had lots of territory so it's somewhat a no-brainer for them as a UHV. If we should pick one among them I'd say Lithuania or Poland, whichever would be the most challenging to achieve.

Yep, it would overlap with the Hungarian UHV
It's fitting for Hungary too in 1490, and is a bigger challenge for the player than it would be with Lithuania - there is too many room to expand with them
I think we should give something harder to them

Agreed, we can even add Kiev to the list
But I would still keep the UHV with Hungary, I find that one the most challenging

:wallbash::wallbash::wallbash::wallbash::wallbash::wallbash::wallbash::wallbash::wallbash:

How long have you known this and why didn't you tell me earlier!!!! .... I have been :deadhorse: for days ...

OK now seriously:

Why is this even in the mod, do you know what the idea is? Why wouldn't someone be allowed to move a lot of units at once, all that this does is it makes the huge stacks that stay in cities and not go anywhere. In RFC stacks tend to be smaller so you don't see it so often, but in RFCE they really break the gameplay.

Sorry... I had posted it there, thought you saw it but didn't find anything to answer about it, so I didn't press the issue.

Seems it's due to a loop bug? According to Rhye's comment.

I must have missed the comment on Monday (I wasted my time on the weekend).

I will take a closer look at Rhye's comment. If the fix is needed for something else, maybe we can get away with simply increasing the number to 30 or 40.

My wild guess would be a neverending loop bug that happened somehow? Maybe due to flips or something. Increasing the cap may do the trick yes.

Ehh, crashed for me too. ~30-40 turns were back from the autoplay, so the bug happened around 1200
