Beyond Earth Factions

I just seriously doubt that the whole Africa are still being pushed around by foreign power in far future and as continental union, they still having the same problem they had 200 years ago as nations.

The longer I read this thread, the more I wish they had picked names that abbreviate to something more distinguishable than "PAU" and "PAC"! :crazyeye:

Maybe we should simply call them "Africa" and "Asia" (and "Poly" for Polyastria)

The most worrying part about the letter is that I fear Samatar's AI is going to be an unholy mix between Civ 5 Catherine/Wahington (rapid city spammer) and Elizabeth (only agrees to deals heavily in his/her favor) and thus almost always a candidate for total containment through eternal war.

Yes. In opinion though it's Shoshone/Washington, greater spammers than Catherine, and Germany, not accepting deals at all! Maybe they just always hate me so much.

I'm just gonna play as Samatar. On one side to validate the claim that all things equal african societies can thrive and prosper ;-) and on teh other side because the Shoshone ability to cherry pick high yield tiles to work on combined with a bonus to health allows to boom early on in a way that nobody ever could catch up to, since higher population also translates into higher production and higher science output.

I don't think he will deny trades. In the letter he states that he will trade again on planet if the situation calls for it. He just says, he will make sure not to be bullied around with guns and industrial might. Thats more or less what every faction would do. Think a moment how Fielding would react to someone muscling in on her turf? Why should Samatar not be allowed to do the same? Because he is african and *has* to give in to unfavorable trades?

When they do, and when their heads of state come and ask me for titanium or oil or land, I will smile and nod and play the part of the nice, simple old village chief. But Africa will be in my heart, Walaalkaa, and history will not be repeated.

As they say... Well, that escalated quickly... :crazyeye:

There seems to be many non euro nations in already. I don't know, maybe you could add a small euro nation that is unknown.

To be honest, when cities (and units) of all factions look the same and only change via affinity I dont care much for them at all in the end. That would take away a huge chunk of immersion.

I guess there really isn't much of a problem in the way be comes out... only time will tell how be will look like or end up as.

Who shall be next? I wonder. Elodie, Kozlov or Hutama. Would they skip revealing a leader this coming week?

I am kinda hoping that they do take a break from factions next week and give us some cool info on virtues. I want to know some of the virtues bonuses are.

Blasphemy! I'm going to pop an artery if we don't get Polystralia info soon.

"Polystralia consists of all the islands that didn't flood. Now, onto virtues..." (Rest of article mentions nothing about Polystralia ever again)

That would be Ayers Rock then i presume (yes, i am that ignorant on Aussie geography and i have no clue that thare are mountain ridges in the southeast of Australia that are higher than that one well known landmark :p )
