BIG Problem!

I'm playing Civ3 with no expansions. I just installed on my new computer, and I have no text! The menu text to play a new game, load game, play scenario, etc. isn't there, but if I hit enter, it will go to the next screen of whatever option I'm on (but just can't see). None of the subsequent screens have text either! Help!

Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling the game? Do that, and make sure it's patched to the latest release.

The patch was actually what caused the problem, I found out. Uninstalling and reinstalling the base version, then rebooting, fixed the problem. Apparently my computer hates patches. It freaked out with a Space Empires patch, too. I'm going to have to get that looked at...
