I guess there are too kinds of people playing civ. The kind that feel they spend way too much time playing and the kind that would love to play more, but can't. Personally, I belong to the latter group. I'd love to play more, but can't due to lack of time, my girlfriend won't let me (and of course I want to spend time with her too!!), my boss refuses to pay me for playing civ and there evenings and weekend just don't last as long as I'd like. I'm curious what is your mean reason you can't play more, or whether you feel you play too much.

I don't have enough free time to play - working tends to take up most of my day ;). Plus, 'er at 'ome tends to nag a bit if I play it every evening...

the rteason I don't spend more time playing civ 3 is because there isn't any more time to play Civ 3 - unfortunately there's only 24 hours in a day!

Option 6: "There is life beyond Civ"

Is this true? I thought it was just work-civ-eat-civ-sleep-civ-work-civ-eat-civ-sleep etc.

I don't think options #1 or #6 are really good enough. "More to life than Civ III?" To me it comes down to three little words..... Threats of Divorce!

Of course, there's always the smoke pouring from my computer that encourages me to stop playing for a bit...:)

Wishful

You forgot the option "There are only 24 hours in a day, and I need atleast 1 hour sleep. How can I possibly play more?"

I have to walk the dogs from time to time.

Oh, and sometimes I let my girlfriend play civ3 on my computer: hers can only handle civ2.

I voted #7. Not that I really need to sleep, but I happen to be playing civ on my laptop while lying on my bed...

As for #6, I would rephrase it as "There is life after civ", provided you've got any time left of course...

Not enough time - I'm in the demogame and moderate the Tournament Forum. :)

I work for a cell phone company and we don't have a manager in the store. In fact the closest manager is like 25 minutes away and always bothers to call us before she shows up.
My job consists of getting up and helping customers for maybe a total of an hour throughout the day. Guess what I am doing in between customers?

That's right, baby!

Civ 3 seven hours a day... Paid.

I love America.

Damn you RobOz! ;)

I work in a large government office, so I have to appear as if I'm working. So though I don't get to play Civ, I can spend hours on the forum if I stick to the pale white style. :)

RobOz, you suck. You absolutely suck. Oh, to be able to play civ at work! Instead, I post about it... but that's not as fun.

I already play too much civ, but I'd play more if I could. But I need to sleep and show up for work. Oh, and eat... gotta remember to eat...

Yep!!!! Two kinds of people play civ. Gimps and Circus Freaks who all live in there parents basements...

That's another way the AI cheats actually. They make sure you are thoroughly addicted to the game, thus causing you to forget to eat or sleep, giving them an edge. Villianous.

I spend more time here then playing Civ! Even though I came here at first to get more out of civ3! but now I come here a lot (in the off-topic forum)

Mostly there's school, and other activities, and then I have homework. :( In my weekday free-time I post at CFC instead of playing Civ because it doesn't require as much time and isn't as much of a "commitment" as playing Civ3. I really only play Civ on the weekends.

I chose this option: There is life beyond Civ3

Gosh, I have homework (freshmen, high classes), foregin language classes, and my mom on me interevening trying to get me offline and off of Civ3. I'm doing this while doing my English homework.

You didn't have the option on he poll that causes me to not get enough civ time in my life. Burnout. Yes thats right I actually get tired of playing civ. It may seem hard to believe that one can get burntout on civ but it is possible. What i do is play non stop for like a week straight then get tired just when i become dominate over all of the other civs, i get tired of the game, wait about 2 weeks or so then start a new game.
