It has been reported on multiple sites (GameBanshee, ShackNews, RockPaperShotgun, Kotaku): The creators of Planescape: Torment, Fallut and Icewind Dale (and publishers of Baldur's Gate) are back.

So, will we finally get another Planescape: Torment, a real successor of Fallout 2, or something completely else?
Does it maybe have a connection to the thoughts about a Planescape Kickstarter project (Kotaku)?

So many questions, so many things to expect :D.
I'm excited :bounce:.
Any thoughts from you :hammer:?

Eh :undecide: how much of the original team is back (I'll have to look at the links you posted)? I'm excited though about the possibility of sequels or even new IPs.

No idea, but at least according to Kotaku Chris Avellone is not in (on Twitter).

But it's somehow owned by Interplay, which might or might not be good (good from a historical point of view, not so good from the monetary side, I think).

Does that mean Obsidian is going to be disbanded ?

Yeah I thought obsidian got a lot of Black Isles refugees. And I like Obsidian a lot. They put out Fallout New Vegas which is probably my favorite game of all time.

No one from the original team is back, Interplay is just trying to use their name and no noe has any idea what they are going to be doing. Way to jump the onto the hype wagon The_J.

Most of the original Black Isle devs work at Obsidian or other companies not related to this.

Hey, I put a link there in the post before ^^:

I know nothing about the Black Isle Studio news announcement, doesn't involve me or Obsidian... or well, anyone that I know. ;)

Hey, this is a discussion forum, and this is certainly worth a discussion :p.
But you're right, there's not yet anything really behind this, but we can still hope :).

Yeah, it's "back" like how Avalon Hill is "back" to sell games that have nothing to do with its history.

We do have a real successor to Fallout 2, it's called New Vegas.

So it's back in the same way Atari came back? Not much to cheer for.
