BNW Constantly Shutting Down Computer (Especially with Leaderheards)

So, I don't know much about computers or Civ 5... But after playing around with this game with a friend I became hooked. The next day I was on here lurking, trying to learn things (was just guessing before), downloaded the game, was all excited... and thennnnn

It ran for like an hour, then shut down my computer entirely. Now, I can't even last long at all without it shutting the whole thing off (particularly when a leaderhead pops up, boom its off most of the time.. I'm at stage in game in which that seems to be happening a lot).

Is there any solution to this? Its become pretty unplayable

Is my older computer just too weak for the game?

It could be over heating. If it is a laptop, they are designed to do that, or you would be buying a new one every time it crashed. Try keeping it as cool as possible, and make sure the fan is working properly.
