I actually did that and couldn't find a charge from Steam. I did find however, that I had been billed by a car rental company for a hire that had been cancelled so there was some benefit (apart from the ongoing battle with the car company to get my money back).

Well Steam is definitely saying I own the game, so that's not my problem....I'll try re-starting my computer & seeing if I can install the Steam Update. Only 5 more hours to go .

Nice to see I'm not the only one with this problem. I got my (European) version from Amazon yesterday and of course was over the moon... finally a new expansion for my addiction!!
I tried and tried to install it, faithfully following the instructions... Steam said, yes, I have the DLC now.... but no dice on loading the game!
So now I finally know what the issue is - why the heck don't they include a warning about the unlocking deadline? NOT a good start to playing this expansion - though I'm still looking forward to it!

Just to clarify: WHEN exactly does it unlock? Jul 11 or Jul 12 midnight? EST? We're 6 hours ahead in Germany, so did it unlock this morning, or do I have to wait till tomorrow morning?

Just to be sure: I hope you guys have enough free harddrive space? That might be a reason why steam isn't starting the download? (and also restart steam/the computer!).

So it's working now? Great, can't wait to get home from work then...

It's not the harddrive space, and I restarted steam and the computer multiple times. No, it has to be a lock due to the deadline - but I really really wish they had included a warning or an error message!
