Boff-02 Behaving Badly

I can't look the save (Library internet terminal...) so might be :smoke: but from what i read...

I am not convinced we need to attack Sury - the last time i looked he was nowhere close cultural threshholds. A war wit him will definitely slow us down more.
And in the worst case he will vassalize to Monthy (Paecefully or because Monthy dogpiled...)
I think it's better to just monitor him, and be ready to burn a city if he indeed goes for culture (Surprisingly it did not look like he does the last time i looked...).
If we go to war, it's better to crush WK - it's where good deal of Monthy's tech is probably coming from.


I would say we tech Corp and incorporate Mining Inc, before someone beats us to it. Spread it for production bonus and try to get close to Monthy's power.
Tech combustion for better navy.
Then depending on the tech situation, either go for WK (and later Monthy) or dig in home and beeline Internet to egalize the tech disadvantage.

I think we also should stop building privateers. Even when they might still be somewhat effective now, they time is clearly over, and they not really help us vs. Monthy - upgrading them to destroyers is immensely expensive.
 
ok well liq is like comatose 18 hours out of the day and it's honesty kind of tough to think. uh yeah back to physical uh yeah forgot the word. :crazyeye: uh therapy... yeah. wow thank goodness for the spell check.

Skip a liq a week or so at the least Liq's mind was shipped to an offshore bank so the feds dont; steal his meds..

My internet connection at home recovered. I am working tomorrow, so i will be "officially back" on sunday.
It was apparently indeed a monthly traffic limit (tho i was unaware of having one thus far...)
 
good can u take it then refar? lets try to keep the roster intact for a bit. im sure tis game can use youre hand now as were not in a great position if you ask me

I examined the save more closely and decided to post before i play.

On Corportations:

I am thinking Creative Construction (Combustion, we want it soon anyway) rather than Mining Inc. Reasons:
We have Engineer, Scientist, Merchant - this allow CreCon + Sushi + AlumCo (+ Jewellers, if we can get a artist). MiningInc will block out AlumCo and Jewellers leaving us with only 2 Corps per city.
We loose 1 or 2 hammers per city, but gain one or possible two extra corps.

WK will trade us Scientific Method for Gunpowder+Rep.Parts. From tech point of view it is a good deal. Its a fair deal (:science: - wise) and he's the last withouth those techs. I think i can wait 4 turns untill Corp is done to make the deal, delaying the impact it will have on our research a little bit.
The only thing that would indicate against the deal would be if are going to attack WK very soon (like in right now). I do not think we are in the position to do so - WK is protective so his Longbow are painfull enopught and we have no Transport ships to speak of and only few Rifles...

I will wait a bit before i play, i.e. for feedback on Corporations.
 
Hmm your reasoning surrounding corp is a good one i agree with you on this. i think the best solution to winning this game is heading to space if you ask me with all those corps we can easily outtech the ai's and play a more peacefull game. Hopefully monty will go bezerk on his closer enemies + i dont think we should fear a naval warfare.
 
Sorry it took me 2 sittings to play. Not that there was a lot going on, but i had too look at about 5 minutes worth of enemy Caravell movement around our privateers every turn.

Our Oxford city was running 3 Merchants and no Scientist :( Switch every specialist there to Scientist, gaining + 51 :science: / turn. Thats like 10% overall increase, so those scientist should stay (unless they can work cottages.)
Also settle one of the 2 stockpiled great scientists in Nurmeberg. Another one should be saved for AlumCo i think.

Teched Corporation and Combustion.
Started on Assembly Line. ETA About 10 turns now. Will give us Infantry, so maybe we can go Vassalize WK and Sury...

Traded with WK for Democracy (Sold Democracy to Justy for Military Science next turn. We could build West Point if we had a level 6 unit)
Perhaps attaching the GG we have stockpiled to one of the revered Axemen will give us one...

Also i notice that WK is not Monthys Vassal anymore. You can see the dent in Monthys powergraph where he broke away.
The yellow-belly vassalized himself peacefully to Suty now.

Built some Levees, a few Cannon/Rifles and 2 more Privatees :blush: right now they are giving us like 50 gpt allowing 80% slider with no net loss (-45 gpt is diplayed but the Privateers get it in again...)

Found a Worker Sleeping in Florence. He will build some Railroad, then he will be shot for laziness.

Prague can support at least 2 plains cottages now. It's going to get better with corps, so i will cottage over a farm or two.

Also hired 2 artists in Jellystone, hoping for Great Artist for Jewellers at some point... However in the long term i think, building Globe in Prague and run a full load of artists there might give us better chances, to get one.

Turn 412: - Seeing how the privateer bring in a pile of money i slightly change my mind on them. They do also get hit by Airships tho... I slightly reorganize them to work in pairs (while trying to blokade 2 cities with each pair.) this gives us the same net blokade-income but should make them live longer.

Turn 414: Corporation is done. Start Wall Street in Prague right away. Steal :hammers:-tiles from Luxemburg and Mainz to push the time down to 25 turns. Will try to improve it further by Railroading.

Turn 416: Get a nice event for a free Scientist in Aachen.

Here we see a pair of privateers running from Monthys frigate :lol: They got away (Thanks to the Magellan Voyage Bonus i think).

Got Creative Con right after Combustion in Prague. Without wall steet it does not cost us money. With Wall street done in ~10 turns we should make some profit.

Other "Corporative" Techs would be:
Medicine for Sushi
Rocketry for AlumCo (Even if we got Aluminium - Alumco will produce more and it will be converted into hammers by CreCon. And of course there are some beakers as well.)
Mass Media for Jewellers. But need a Artist.

I think we should finish Assembly Line and try for Pentagon in Aachen - we have Ironworks there and with some headstart it should be ours.

Tech SciMethod then - can not push it back more - we need oil for navy.

Our Power rating is still :cry: (tho we are better than Sury now i think). But With the Island getting Railroaded, i dont think we need to fear a naval Invasion anymore - we can react within one or two turns about everywhere.

Also Monty's fleet is laughable right now.

Still with Infantry and Oil Navy we should be able to Kick WK and Sury's asses if we want too. Maybe take that Island from them and turn it in a Colony for foreighn trade ?

NOTE: We have Democracy for Emancipation - and should revolt soon. I didn't revolt yet, so we can talk other Civics.
I think we can not afford to drop HR - we dont have any :)-Resource of our own...
Free Religion might be worth it however. With Sci Method soon, we will loose Monasteries anyway, cutting our Sankore :beakers:... I am not 100% sure if it will pay off however...
 
BTW: do you guys plan to spread your corps to the AI, that is something I always debate (though the game is usually decided by Corp, so I don't bother with them), but I hate the idea of giving the AI food, beakers, or hammers.
 
I only spread to AI if i need to offset the cost domestic corps are causing to me. Then i pick smallish Backward Civs if possible, or better yet my Vassals.

I think this will not be necessary here, thanks to Rathouses.
 
uh ok yay liq just woke up at.... midnight... yes prolly back to whatever normal is.

Liq is so sad he missed privateer fun, they simply effing own for the brief amount of time they are allowed to live hahahahaha. they simply own in effing around with peaceful coastal civs as they have to scramble to make frigates etc hehe.

ANyway Liq can play whenever as I can finally turn my head and like drive a car gasp.

The only thing i am sure of, is it ain't me - i had just played :lol:
Otherwise i think there was not real roster lately, so maybe whoever can and did not just played the last/last but one set, should take it ?

Hmm... I don't know where Liq has gone honestly, hopefully he's alright and just working through his back pain.

I won't be able to pick up a turnset of this game until September, as I'll be out of town on vacation. Hopefully this game will still be running by then.
