Bombarding

Also a question. When bombarding, with catapult or cannon or artillery. Or a ship with that ability. It show a targeting circle to place within the square of the city or land. Is the aiming significant? I can never tell if it makes a difference or not.

Only as far as aiming for the right tile to bombard. Sometimes, when I miss my 5th or 6th artillery attack in a row, I do start to wonder…

md4 is correct with his statement - but players (including me) sometimes are not acting so logically when having a series of misses when bombarding other units. I like to aim for the knees, personally.

So, other than wishful thinking, it makes no difference where in the square (or diamond) one is aiming? I'll stop worrying about being careful with the shot placement.

Yes, no difference at all. But you should hit the right square nonetheless. Hitting a different square will of course make a difference.
