Bonus CD Missing

I pre-ordered Conquests from Amazon.com on October 10. I just received the game last night, but the Bonus "Best of the Net" CD was not included. I just fired off an e-mail to Amazon asking about it, so I haven't received a reply yet.

While reading the reviews on Amazon, it appears that others have had this same problem. One guy said that Amazon is denying its existence, but that Atari says they should have it. The Bonus CD is the main reason I pre-ordered the game instead of just waiting for the release.

Can somebody from Atari comment?

Has anyone else had this problem?

When I receive a reply from Amazon, I will post it here.

Also, the game was released on Nov. 4, but Amazon didn't ship it until Nov. 9, and I didn't receive it until Nov. 12. Over a WEEK later! Do the big retailers not receive the game early in order to ship it out to those who pre-ordered it to arrive when it is released? If not, what is the point of pre-ordering? When I pre-ordered Harry Potter for my son, Barnes & Noble shipped it so that it arrived the day it was "released."

That's awful. I wanted to order from american sites, because there is No bonus-CD for Europe editions(in amazon.co.uk), but I ordered it, anyway, from the .uk store(american sites didn't ship it to Europe). I, also, pre-ordered mine as well, but I'm waiting for 2 weeks now, although it already has been releashed in Europe.

I've had the exact same problem, and I am also very disappointed because the Bonus CD was the reason I pre-ordered it too. I preordered it on the 8th of October. I have not contacted anyone yet, though.

Mine arrived on the 12th, though it makes sense to me since I chose the Free shipping from Amazon which takes 5-6 business days, I think, and there was a weekend and a holiday so...

4 (release date) + 5 (shipping time) + 2 (weekend doesn't count) + 1 (no mail came on that holiday) = 12th

As far as I can tell, the reason for pre-ordering is the bonus stuff or special editions they give you. That's why they give them to you, because otherwise there's no reason to pre-order.

Up here in Toronto (that's in Canada btw), I saw it on the shelves at a local retailer Sunday (Nov. 9th). One copy left. Now there are none. :d

The same thing happened to me, I got C3C today and I preordered it a few weeks before it came out, and I think Jeff_Atari said to contact him if your missing the bonus cd.

My point was that when the 5th HP book was released, B&N and Amazon and those type places received the book a few days before and somehow (I don't know how they did it, but they did) timed the delivery, so that it arrived at my doorstep the day it was released, i.e. available at local bookstores. It seems like Atari could have worked out a similar deal, so that everyone who pre-ordered the game would receive it the day it was released.

Knowing the game would be waiting for me when I got home the day it was released and not having to go to the store only to find that it had already sold out would be a huge incentive to pre-order it.

Heh. I've got the opposite problem. I ordered the game on the fifth while Amazon still had their "bonus CD now" offer. So in my checkout, it said that I had both the bonus CD and the game coming to me. On Monday, I received my bonus CD but I have yet to receive the game! Right now, it's in the USPS office right outside of where I live, so I should get the game tomorrow. However, I still find it ironic that everyone else has gotten the game but no bonus CD while the exact opposite has happened to me.

Anyways, You can at least for now get Warpstorm watercolor and Sn00py's graphics mods for C3C off this site

The problem is that Amazon required that you add the Bonus CD as part of your order. Another problem was that if you preordered before Amazon added the Bonus CD, then you had to cancel the old order and reorder if you couldn't add the Bonus CD to your original preorder. I had to cancel my first order and reorder because it wouldn't allow me to add the Bonus CD.

I have the bonus cd and you really shouldn't get too wound up about not having it.
It contains things you don't need if you've got the game:
The Patches to Civ III and PTW
PreSell Artwork and Music previews
Screenshots
Weblinks

It also has Snoopy's and warpstorm's mods which you can down load here. 9 scerarios of which I think 7 are here as well.

The strategy guides are cool -- but all that's here as well

Perhaps someone can start a thread that has all the stuff (or links to them if they are already in other threads) that was included on the Bonus CD, so that those of us who got screwed by Amazon can atleast download them. I know that most of the stuff is available here, but it would be nice if it was all listed in one place.

Or maybe the Atari folks can take our names and addresses and just mail us the CD.

You guys are really not missing much.

The Snoopy and Warpstorm terrains on the CD are not C3C versions. You should download the latest version from the graphics forum here instead.

Same thing for other mods. It's likely that you will see C3C version of those modpacks soon.
