Boo to Tom Chick

I forget, but is Valledia and Dain children of Kylorin as well. And if so, are they in the list of kids you get in the scenario?

I also got a bit disappointed with the scenario cause I was expecting FfH2 in a way :P. But I also think the scenario is a lot more polished than FfH2 is, or ever will be until Ice phase.

But I did love the scenario, it's a must-play. I just hope that new players to Fall from Heaven will try FfH2 as well.

Things I'd like to see in FfH maingame;
  • Unique animals
  • Combinable units, like the pikeman/phalanx thing, but a bit less overpowered. As it is, you can create a 11 str unit with 10 promotions at lvl 1.
  • Events (but that will come in FfH:Shadow I'm sure)

I really love the history behind FfH. It makes it that much more fun to play. It's going to be interesting trying to navigate the Amurites through the AoI.

I would like to see a scenario where the Bannor try to escape from Hell now that I think about it. ;) Yes, the Bannor are my favorite civ but I do like the Grigori and Doviello also.

For some reason I think this will be the first scenario that they will make for the Ice phase.

The Bannor have some of the best and interesting background story for sure.

P.S.
For some reason I get that voice from Diablo II with that angel that helps you in my head, when I think of Bannor and Sabathiel.

AoI had great flavor and was initially very exciting and fun, although it was getting tedious and dull near the end (in much the same way that HoM&M did; that comparison is very accurate).

Comments that are potential spoilers:
Spoiler :
It turned out to be a mistake not accepting the Doviello peace treaty; I spent far too long taking down their capital and had to commit too many forces to holding off the Illian harrassment coming from the North while I was doing it. That mistake, along with some poor research decisions early, might have resulted in the game being more tedious and less fun than it should have been.

The weather effects were great. The encounters were great, although I would have liked a few more, and I would have preferred they were more evenly distributed, geographically-speaking. The animals are great, as were the buildings associated with them. The tech tree is good and makes for some interesting decisions. I would have liked more civics.

All-in-all, I am pleased with the mod and think it will entice many new players to pick up FFH2. Great job, Kael and Co.

Well the amurites did use magic, try the children of kyorlin, or epona,

And if you still don't think they used enough magic then atleast aoi has shown why the amurites use magic.

I loved the backstory element (I compulsively read all the civilopedia entries before even settling my first city), and yes of course I went with Epona (Speaking of Epona, was any of this inspired by Zelda? I can swallow that name being a chance thing, but using a "master sword" to kill a great evil who has covered the world in cold and darkness? I'll take that too, but it is sorta stickin in my throat a bit. Waiter, can I get some water?). Heck, I even played through most of the scenario, wondering when all the awesome would start.

I guess I'm just used to the rambling wonder world that is FfH2. Every time I play through it, I manage to see something else that makes me go "holy garbanzo beans, this is tiiiight!" like the first time I saw the scorched terrain, or the time I fell out of my chair because I was so surprised by a giant spider that popped up out of nowhere, or the first time I happened upon that giant Red Dragon beatdown machine.

But I'm totally not seeing the attraction to FfH fans. The lack of religions, the lack of magic (which was explained in great detail in the pedia), the lack of zombies and werewolves and Bannor and Hyboreans and and...

FfH is so much more than just the ground pounders wandering about, even if some people take it as a point of pride that they use nothing but. And I'm sure that if I had never ever ever played FfH before, I'd have thought that AoI was the best scenario ever. But it isn't. What it is is FfH with everything that makes FfH great disabled. Kind of like Portal in MtG. And I can dig it as a way of getting new blood. But I can't understand how a regular of the series could play it and feel anything other than a need to play the real deal.

I loved AoI, both for its gameplay and for it's backstory. But then again; I like fighting long wars of attrition. *Shrugs*

It is pretty stupid, at any rate, to go into AoI expecting FFH2. It's kind of like playing an Ancient World scenario for vanilla and expecting tactical nukes and F-16s. I rather enjoyed the "back to basics" feeling that the limited options gave me, in fact - scenarios are things that should be valued on their own merit, not compared to something entirely different (like, say, a random game of FFH2).

I loved AoI, although I would have liked it to be a little harder. I never really felt threatend, even by the monster lairs and such.

But I want MORE!!!
