Fippy is a new (relative term) acronym for a veteran player. Either you know that and are making , or you don't know that and that's why I'm telling you. I hope all the famous deity level players get excited and join in - for old times' sake if nothing else. Send PM's if you know any.
PS -Not including myself... in Deity I am a cheezer or spectator, so I'll enjoy doing both this time.
All players welcome. While the AIs are are deity level, this game is much easier than a normal deity island map would have been - because of SP. State Property removes the colonization maintenance cost, which can be huge if you're spread over several landmasses.
Spoiler:
At least I think it does.
Apologies if it doesn't.
@minou, thanks for this:
I love the concept of a Deity island game with Communism - it is always refreshing to have to re-think strategy given unusual starts!

If it's small islands, then it's unlikely there'll be many landmasses with more than 1 or 2 of your cities on them - and that would imply colonial expenses would be relatively small, since they only really build up when you have lots of cities on the same continent. However on deity, the distance from palace costs would in themselves be quite burdensome, so I'd still expect state property to be very useful. Plus you get the extra food from workshops etc. much earlier than usual.
State Property helps nicely yep, no matter how island /continent maps are shaped costs are always high on deity here (like DS said).
Also there's a more or less hidden cost increase starting with your 7th city, i never looked into why but #7 costs much more than #6, overall gold per turn needs are really getting annoying at that point.
SP keeps this acceptable, and settling more = more fun
Especially cos you can never count on getting GLH on deity, all wonders can or can not go very early. GLH also makes settling island maps much easier.
10% hammer bonus is also nice, mostly for whips & chops.
You might 2 pop whip settlers 1 turn earlier i.e. and save turns here and there for stuff like work boats.
Imo Deckhand had a brilliant idea here, it's still very much like playing a normal Deity map and he kept what the difficulty stands for intact, but also gave us help in a very creative way that nobody played before probably.
Fippy is a nom de guerre for a top teir skilled player. Sorry, acronym means something else. F.I.P.P.Y. is an acronym for Falabello Is Possibly Putting You on.

I think My was already Fippy when Falabello started playing. It took me a while to figure it out and only did because I was running the SG.

Thanks for the kind words. Amazing how even when we are old, a little compliment is so encouraging. I stumbled on that bit of "brilliance". Mao was only leader (except Asoka, who is currently starring in the gotm124) that hadn't been the BOTM leader.
