My main problem with spreading Mining to the AI is that I'm spending quite some resources on crippling one AI, while the rest prospers. Granted, there's only 4 of them, but I'd still rather go forward myself than hold the AI back. Or is that faulty reasoning?
Anyway, can't wait to start the game in the near future!
Are we burdened with a non-profit Mining Inc. headquarters that doesn't give the profit from each city that has is? If so then this already unattractive game becomes even less desirable.
It should be possible to have 3 Mining Inc. cities generating +12 per turn total in the capital as long as no resources are hooked up.
Main problem is Mining Inc. won't spread unless a resources IS hooked up.
So road and spread mining inc. to city #2, city #3, and then pillage both coal mines.
Once something does get hooked up (coal/silver/gold/iron/bronze), you better have courthouses.
3 resources seems like an acceptable deal (but still pretty bad to start the game).
With the +4 from HQ, it costs only 8 for 5
At least it lets you connect 1 gold, 1 silver (for happy) and 1 (iron/copper).
You probably disconnect the coal (get barbs to pillage the road) or pillage the mine yourself.
I suppose you could ignore iron/copper (use horses) and leave one coal.
