I took the Contender save and settled in place. I was a bit surprised to find four AI on our continent; after settling five cities, I decided to attack Sitting Bull, the closest one, in 225 BC. By 1 AD I've captured Poverty Point and his capital, Cahokia.

I moved to the PH and settled there, like @MarleysGh0st surprised to see so many AIs on our continent. Aggressive Monte and saboteur extraordinaire Sitting Bull ugh. Planning an AP win but there's a Buddhist lovefest going on and I haven't been invited yet!!

Also settled in place and early exploration confirmed what the evil mapmaker promised: crappy lands around our capital - desert to the W and jungle to the N. So I expanded S/SW. Poor luck for Montezuma, he was the first to bite the dust. Roosevelt is up next on my clockwise expansion, but that is for the final spoiler.
Planning for my usual spaceship, but I suspect I am not expanding nor teching as fast as I should. Justinian is the only moderately useful trade partner in my game. At least I built the Pyramids for representation.

I decided to try a bowapult or catabow, or whatever it would be called. I'm sure no one has ever tried bowmen + cats.
I didn't even try for metal or horses. I pastured mine, but didn't road it right away.
So I oracled Construction and the bowmen are doing ok. I'm resisting changing to chariots, or axes.
S.Bull's first city had only 2 dogs defending. perfect for bowmen.
Monty's had 1 warrior
Then a couple archers in the capital. (He's dead now)
I'm bombarding Roosevelt. He has a lot of melee too. 4 defenders, zero archers in the first city.
It's like we're supposed to do a bowmen rush.

I wanna do something unusual to finish. Either bulb Astro and conquer the world with bowmen or I might just do domination if we can do that without needing Astro. Not sure how big our land is yet.

My craziest idea is to conquer the world without Astro.
I'd send caravels to meet the others and the try to Peace-vassal them from across the sea.

This being prince and being aggressive with combat warriors out of the gate, I fully gambled on warrior-rushing which went pretty well. I settled on the PH and with the other forested PH available that meant 3-turn warriors. Cahokia was attacked with 3 warriors and fell around 3200BC. Not satisfied with that I also found the Aztec capital and captured it around 2800BC IIRC with another 4 warriors, which netted a worker and the hindu holy city. Only later realized that being organized was also a blessing, as tech didn't tank totally, although didn't go quite as fast as hoped either.

Unfortunately with a mountaneous peninsula in the south Tenochtitlan wouldn't connect with sailing, so I had to road all the way back to the capital early (not thinking of just exploring around that peninsula with a WB until it wasn't necessary anymore). Anyway, after those early skirmishes fully concentrated on expansion, although a barb city popped up in an unfortunate spot north of the capital which had to be removed first. Built the GLH in Tenochtitlan and as usual thought of the Oracle too late to have a go at it. Justininan built it the same turn I finished the GLH.

By 1AD I have 13 cities and the full eastern and southern seaboards settled. Without easy access to happiness growth was a problem for quite a while until finally I got calendar and enough of an economy to settle near the jungled ivory and some gold west of the former Aztec capital. Also landed the Pyramids for much needed happy from representation. HR could have been an option too, but Cahokia with its insane food supply was also screaming for specialists.

I played a peaceful start (well, semi-peaceful) and expanded to 4 cities by 1000 BC. I'll have the Oracle in 6ish turns, 12 pops, 5 workers (3 stolen), 4 warriors, 3 chariots, 1 granary, 1 library.

I continued to expand peacefully while harassing SB and Monty. I pulled of the CS slingshot in 775 BC. I decided to forego any other wonders. Washington built the 'Mids and the Jewish shrine which I plan to own some day soon...

I took out SB in 225 BC and kept all three of his cities.

I declared war on Washington in 25BC and a fake war on Justinian on the same turn (to steal 3 workers and slow him down a bit). I might lose an undefended ex SB city to a wandering Justinian spear that popped out of the fog and clobbered the chariot I had in the area.

By 1 AD I have 10 cities, 39 pop, 14 workers (12 stolen), 4 warriors, 3 chariots, 9 swords, 2 axes, 1 GS, 1 GG, 7 granaries, 4 libraries, 2 LHs, 1 monastery and the Oracle. I should own NY and the Jewish shrine next turn.

I know CS, Currency and Paper and should finish Education in about 10 turns. I only got IW, Hunting, Sailing, Polytheism, Archery and Monotheism in trade. The AI have not been too helpful this game which is why they all have to go.

Washington only has 5 cities and Justinian has 8. Monty has 4 cities but he's way behind due to being pillaged and having lost 4 workers. I'll likely finish off Washington and then turn my attention north next.
