BOTM 73 - First Spoiler

Why the Great Wall indeed ;)

Great Lighthouse would be a good choice here IMO, with a "vertical" expansion along the coast.

Waging a Construction war to get you conquest rolling is a good idea but your 1AD stack is very insufficient versus Hammurabi's Bowmen. Archers with Cover promotion would probably fare better than Axemen :)

Don't you have Elephants?? Not sure, I don't see well on your screenshot. If not, with 6 Horse Archers and 4/6 Catas more, you would have quickly gotten 2 cities including the one with the Elephants and divide your war time vs Hammy by 5 ;)

As usual and always, I have to commit some mistakes . In this case, after Construction, I wanted capture the Hammurabi cities soon, so I decide not to tech IW (Swords) or HBR. Being Monarch, I guessed my stack would be enough :(. During the war I send more Cats and Axes, but Hammurabi had more cities that I imagined . I underestimated the level and the opponent…

In this game I didn’t go to Paper/Edu/Lib, so other AI teched it first.

Thanks for the tips, I'll try not forget it in my next war !

When I learn to play well this game, we’ll be in Civ8 or 9 :lmao:…

Did anyone else rename their Capital, Springfield?

1AD, only 4 cities:
Springfield, SIP, pigs, horses, 3 seafood
Washington, 4E, copper, corn, 4 hills, will become Heroic Epic
Dur-Kurigalzu, 10E captured from Babylonians, on west coast, pigs, clams, copper
Kushans, 7N1W just captured from Barbarians, corn, pigs

Great Lighthouse, Pyramids, Oracle (Civil Service)

4 workers (none captured), 4 chariots, 3 catapults, 2 axemen, 5 warriors

First war, bad luck with chariots vs bowmen. Killed 4 bowmen, lost 9 chariots, captured 2 cities (razed 1 of them). Made peace, building catapults. Sent army to take barb city (Kushans).
