Perhaps we need to start a thread in which people guess the origins of other people's names, then after the guesses have got sufficiently silly, the person concerned reveals what his/her name means 
FWIW I'm familiar with 'Lowther' as a surname so my working assumption had always been that it was LowtherCastle's real life surname.

As for my opinion on key conditions for the win, those are number of religions (you have to target the early two of three to get extra discount) - as 70% of culture required at least comes from religions even with 4 of them - and sound GP management.

IIRC I only had 3 religions: Christian, Confu and Taoism. Two cotage cities and one GA city as Legendary. But since this was my first cultural victory, I was not really sure as to what I was exactly doing.
