Boxer Rebellion Scenario

And for those who doubt the Yak Riders existence.... Check out the Flavor Units thread... Tibetan pics

ShiroKobbure: The rifleman is coming along. I'm actually rendering the Fortify animation right now, which is the last one.

I've been trying to juggle this and the Cut and Paste Pack, so it's been a handful, but I hope to release the Japanese units soon.

But after the Cut and Paste Pack and the Japanese units and the Legionairri Fuliminata are released, I'm taking a hiatus from unit creation for a little while to work on my mod and intro movie for the mod.

Shiro- I am planning on using the riflemen actually. And the reason Germany is easier, is that Japan is'nt on the map on the map, and Germany has more troops.

is korea on the map?
because I could see a little russo-japanese war going on (1904-1905). when does the boxer rebellion start and end?
if it's past 1905 you could give japan korea, they basically own it after the war although it isnt offically annexed until 1910

I agree about Korea, and so should Taiwan.
But the Boxer rebellion started before 1900 so....
BTW the real name is "Justice fist" that was kind of loosely translated as "boxer"... now of course most "gwailos" here would not get it if you don't use "boxer" so you should stick to that.

They did in the 1870s was'nt it? The Sino-Japanese war?
Germany has the most troops, because they actually did have the most. Infact they made up the large bulk of them towards the end of the rebellion and years after. I know Japan did have Tawian though, and Korea will still be split with Russia at this point.

Edit: 1895 it was annexed. For some reason I was thinking the first Sino-Japanese war to be alot earlier.

But the Sino-Japanese War was only just before the Boxer Rebellion, so really I don't think that Korea and Taiwan make good bases for Japan. Maybe for their ships, but it should not be places where they can draw a lot of manpower.. only their starting armies.

dom -do you plan to make some units for this scenario? maybe so ww1 looking german infantry, of course chinese infantry and russian infantry. I can do the concept art...though I doubt it would help you at all

bombshoo- will the civs be able to research techs beyond those seen in the boxer rebellion? maybe like planes, machine guns, gas, or tanks?

I'm not going to promise anything right now... as I said before, when I'm done with the units I've said I was going to do, I'm taking a break to work on some other stuff.

Also, the other thing is that a lot of the troops from this conflict don't have that World War I look.

I will be using techs from the near future. Such as poison gas could have probaly been used in it, But was'nt. it will have armored cars, but no tanks, I might give some of the more advanced powers (USA, Britain, etc) recon planes, but I am not gonna get major air battles involved. I beleive they did have early machine guns in it.
However alternate history will be used some, as you will be able to get countries that were not orginally part of the conflict dragged in. Although most will be recultent to join, and not have much manpower.

I also have a unit request, which I would be very glad if someone could do.

South-Australian rifleman (made up a large part of the forces for the British for awhile)

Mongol Infantry in the boxer rebellion. They are pretty interesting too. They are using rifles, swords, and bows and arrows. This isn't as nessicary as some units for this mod. But some Modern Mongol flavor units are cool in general.
