Breaking news!!!

The strike plan I described, can be enacted in turn 30 regardless, we just need to have enough galleys, galleys we need anyways. If diplomacy fails (as we have seen before), we can still call the Rio-Fortaleza Strike with Ancient Cavalry, Javelineers and Swordsmen, since those costs can be placed around 20-30 turns.

I hate to rain on your parade but....if we attack in 30 turns...they will have pike...count on it...and the tiny little incursion you call the grand army will die.

our biggest problem right now is our lack of intel. We still have a exploration treaty.... lets use it.

But this is the wrong thread for all this so my apologies for spamming.

Magnusmarcus, I factored in Establish Embassy the turn before we go in, so we got an updated warning in both Fortaleza and their Capital before we invade, just read up the action sequence. The escape clause is our Embassy and Investigate City function.
If we are at war before then, we need another plan.

To continue spamming this thread ;)...

You said that we still have an exploration treaty. I am not so sure about it, since they also cancelled the techtreaty; that is, they don't send us treaties anymore.

I believe the time has come for our ambassador to C3B to contact their government, and request information on their behalf about their position towards us. What treaties can be considered alive? Why don't they want to speak to us? Why cancelling treaties without letting us know? What about our future relation?

Clear questions, only requiring clear answers from the Official Brazuca (C3B) Government. So we shouldn't accept those silly answers from 'the cat', just because she is a brazilian woman, and can be considered pretty (i personally think her picture is 'displeasing', but that's just my personal opinion). We don't want to know what The Cat thinks, does or wants, we want an official statement from their government!

EMP, time to get to your office again!

Never trust a woman in power! Especially not a black cat from Brazil.... :)

I stopped reading the bulk of your posts.... I simply don't have enough time in the day to read all that... If you had simply written a more organized concise post I may have agreed with you but I don't have 2 hours a day to read everything you write.

Ally with CDZ emmediatly against C3B!

For CDZ it must be interresting that one of the nations on our continent destroy's the other ,if we can arrange it as such to that they only trade with us and possibly even give support then the war will almost be guaranteed a win for us ,wich will be good for Both us and CDZ.

lotsa dutchie's on their team ,very good lets install a dutch diplomat. ;)
Lots of these dutchie's have close ties to Civfanatics and probably have excelent friendship relations with Matrix and Rik here. (dutchie's usually stick toghether)

Be preppared to sacrife some stuff to build up excelent relationship's with them.

magnus, I do not believe they will have many pikes in 30 turns. They are paying us 18gpt. Thats a bummer for them. They would need to scrap together alot of cash to pay for all the techs from CDZ and then upgrade to pikes. I don't see them having much left over cash for that. And CDZ still needs to move their galley which will take a few turns.

Perhaps we can try and pay off CDZ to not trade with C3B. It is risky since it would have to be out of game trust and honour.

Just thoughts.

The problem with the Cat is that she is not in power. Her statements have been annoying me from the start, and I think it's disturbing that we let her go away with it.

Since you just got in Provo, I'll briefly explain the situation.
Every time that we have questions or points to C3B, and we have a chat session with them, the Cat always wholeheartedly agrees with all we want. However, the next chat session, they have been ignoring our points, questions or statements, and then the Cat just says that no-one wants to listen to her. It seems that everyone wants war in C3B except for this person. So untill that gives us the situation that if we ask C3B about our future relation, she responds that there is going to be no problem, and that she will work to get the citizens on her side. So instead of representing her citizens to us, she is representing us to her citizens. And then the next session she apologises for the fact she didn't convince enough people.

I have had enough of this, and to be honest I was happy to hear that she resigned from office. However, now it seems, or at least EMP is giving that impression, that she took her office back for some reason.

Please excuse me for this rather unfriendly post...I guess it's just the growing frustration about her interpretation of diplomacy.

(about the possible transfer to our team...you can guess: I'd prefer not see that happening:) )

LOL Gert-Janl, we do not need a Eva Peron of Fanatica, let her perish with her fellow Brazucans. Good cop bad cop tactics used with a woman as a good cop is as old as the worlds oldest profession. Sugar-talk her one day and exterminate the next.

akots: Who did you get the message from ?

If my calculations are correct we can scrape together about 35 gpt, and still research The Wheel in 4 turns. With that we can pay CDZ for techs. Also they might lack optional techs.

Instead of going all out military we can also go settler - expanding. We do have a natural defense ridge in our landbridge. If we can use the first 12 turns of the 20 turn gpt deal that way we are potentially stronger. And defended with pikes.

Also: We can give 1 very good reason to not have CDZ meet C3B: C3B's attempt at the great library. We can convince CDZ that if they meet C3B soon all their techs are C3B's as well.

The problem with some of the input was that many of these carried destructive criticism to the proposal and called for a war of attrition, so all this posting has been necessary to try to convert some of this negative criticism into constructive criticism.
Some new info and interests have surfaced, and with the new diplomatic relation we should still consider this strike an option we need to implement by turn 20, and prepare builds already now. Some of you ask for golden era and a war, and it seems you do not go for strategic objectives, merely the production bonus of Golden Era.
I think we should spend the ancient Cavalry for such a raid anyways.

Rik, if CDZ knows that C3B is building the GL, they will want to trade techs with them so that they at least get SOMETHING for them and so that C3B doesn't get them for nothing.

This is great news indeed! :D

However well planned Provultions offensive may be, I demand that it be put on hold untill we get the next save and get to talk to CDZ! We should also hold the save untill we have discussed this new situation.

This event can turn everything around. Everything... :scan:

We should try to convince CDZ to help up killing C3B. If they aid us as much as they can, they'll profit from it, because they'll let us fight and they only have to wait till someone wins.

Shall we do it? We're gonna fight anyway.
Wait, lemme poll it. Though I'll probably be able to chat with them any day. (So tomorrow too.)

Edit: Never mind, I don't know alternatives for what intentions to show to CDZ, so I can't poll it.

Apparently, after we confer at least a part of our diplomatic experience regarding our relationships with C3B, to the rather reasonable CDZ team, they would be extremely reluctant to deal with C3B. Well, if they don't listen to us, they can always try themselves to just find out that what the President of C3B told you during the chat is nothing because when after the chat, the issue is polled, citizens there vote in an opposite way.

I don't think CDZ will tolerate this kind of behavior from C3B. We can certainly try as Matrix has suggested but even if we just can convince CDZ to sell us some techs for gold payment so that we can get Feudalism whereas C3B will be denied that opportunity, that will be suffucient help. I'm afraid that if we want to count on something more, we would have to part with something else.

HOLY DZ, FATHER OF FANATICA!

THIS IS OUR CHANCE! WE MUST ALLY WITH THEM AGAINST C3B! THIS IS THE START OF THE FANATICAN EMPIRE!

They know that we have meet C3B, and we know that they have meet. We must tell them that, in everyone's best intrests, we must destroy C3B. They know that they are weak from the anrachy, they know that they are giving us money. They know that in one good swipe, we can get to the finals.

Even if they can not cross the sea saftly it is ok. They can give us money insted of troops. But they must help us in any way!

Well, another important thing is that they know our government and they know we are resonable and reliable people who stick to their words and follow the deals. Unlike C3B. That is very important aspect.

We will see if they want to honor that, we should still plan against C3B as we would have no help at all, and consider all good from CDZ as a bonus.

You are forgetting one critical detail in negotiations. All that CDZ has to do to help us defeat C3B is give us techs at a discount (especially feudalism). With just that, we would win! How simple is that for them? We get money from our (soon to be) enemies, our (ostensibly) allies get our eternal gratitude (even vassalship), all for techs that they already (likely) possess.
