Emp.Napoleon could you read the KISS equivalent thread please ... just to get a feel of where we are going with this ....

I urge everyone to input even if it is to agree with the direction and instructuions given

1. We swap techs with both KISS and D-Nuts minor ones ... (pottery for alphabet type of thing)
2. Then swap a second time but swap what we got from the rivals ... This way when they meet ... nothing for them to trade and we still retain iron working as a state secret ...

I can't get a hold of any D-nut people right now, so I am sending a e mail. I will ask for a chat time when I can get their head of state. I like Weekends, particularly 7:00 AM PST for our European players and East Coasters. If anyone has any specifics, tell me.

This chat should not be agreed to without a prior agenda having been established. Given that, both parties should understand that agreements may not be able to be finalized until further review due to timezone limitations. Let's not have another go-around that consumes 4 hours, ultimately to result in an agreement we could have discussed at our leisure.

Also, I suspect that DNUT and KISS already have contact, and that KISS knows that we already have contact with DNUT. We should be ready for those questions, with a Bush/Cheney response:

I sent a email asking for some im's. We can have a chat this weekend (saterday mornings are best for me.) In the mean time, I need the domestic dudes to tell me what to present.

I would like Fe to come so we can approve stuff. In addition I would like those who wanna learn some skills to come, I will explain everything in another room.

I also say we make a full alliance with these guys when we find out where they are on the map. They seem to want one. Hmmm ... everyone talking about slingshots ...

So maybe my idea of offering dudish techs for Pots in return for them to research and give us a tech 9with a late penalty fee) is not going to work with these guys

Still I'd want pots ... just to get it

We have and they don't (beaker costs):

Bronze Working - 90
Iron Working - 180 (needs Bronze as prerequisite - they don't know we have this)
Warrior Code - 90
Ceremonial Burial - 60

They have and we don't:

Pottery - 60
Writing - 240

I would be surprised if we can get writing from them, even if we offer more than fair value. We should definitely inquire though - depending on if they will entertain offers or not, we can guess whether they are going for Philosophy or Code of Laws next (if they doing CoL, then they definitely would not consider trading writing - if they are already close to completing Philosophy, then they might think about it).

Ideally, we would trade Ceremonial Burial for Pottery, but I doubt they will go for that. I would be content with Pottery for either BW or WC straight up, although I would try to get a little gold thrown in if I could to make up for the beaker cost.

II - Technological Parity
Both nations pledge to share with the other what tech is being researched and what tech is planned to be researched.

Both nations will faithfully attempt to never cross-research or compete by researching the same tech.

Both nations prioritize trades with each other, prefering trades with an ally than with another party.

The two parties of this pact are to combine their economic power to enable the best possible research rate.

Both nations will show full disclosure on their economic situation, and act accordingly.

Any technology researched co-operatively is to be shared between the two parties of this pact.
