This is extremely infuriating. I've started playing Broken Star, and I really enjoy it. But all of the sudden my tiles started turning to desert with the absolutely annoying "Global warming has struck near [city name]!". It's at the point where 1 tile turns to desert every turn. No nuclear weapons have been launched and detonated, there hasn't been a nuclear reactor explosion as far as I can tell, it just started all of the sudden for no apparent reason. :gripe:

No comments? Come on, people, surely at least one of you thinks that randomly turning tiles into desert in a military minded scenario is a bad idea.

I have a comment: patience. In the mean time you can consider uploading your savegame and inform us what version of BtS you have: patched (3.02 or 3.03) or unpatched.

BtS 3.03, but I'm considering "upgrading" to 3.02 because these sc***ed up combat animations are making it difficult to follow a fight.

Unfortunately, I used world builder to fix the tiles that got turned into desert and, apparently, global warming isn't recorded in the event log. :( Many apologies. But I can tell you that in GlobalDefines.xml for Broken Star that "GLOBAL_WARMING_PROB" is set to 20, so it is possible for GW to start with the explosion of a nuke plant or a detonated warhead. In this case, I think a nuke plant exploded on somebody else's territory and I never noticed.
