I was Googling on Friday night looking for demo software for Bryce to try out and came across this link. http://www.download.com/Bryce/3640-6677_4-10590029.html

It must be legit because when I went to register in the setup menu it sent me to DAZ and I received a product key. Also it's on C/Net. I've been using it for the past 3 days.

I'm afraid to ask but maybe it's an old link that was never taken down?

I don't know about Download.com, I've seen Limewire Free on it, which isn't 100% legal AFAIK.

Download.com/Cnet.com have been around for ages providing free, trial, and paid downloads, and I haven't heard about scandals before.

If this isn't legit, I'd be shocked. I say it's good :goodjob:

[edit] - I just DLed it. It seems good and legit. The registration takes you to DAZ's website where they give you the activation code. You just need to download the presets as well, which are also free at Downloads.com.

Great find Gary!

Bjonrlo, nice of you to drop in. :)

Yeah well... I found this old link in my address book. It said something about civilization. So, I was thinking fine-art, great literature. You can imagine my disappointment.

from that page at download.com:

This is a dead offer. You can't run the program without a registration code, but the free offer in which you can acquire the code expired last year.

from that page at download.com:

Well since the OP posted a preview of his first modeling project in Bryce, it seems that Daz3d is still honoring this deal. I know I have seen posts elsewhere by recent Bryce5 downloaders that only just started using it.

That makes no sense  I DLed mine for the first time yesterday, and did it again today. It works fine.

They must not like you zulu, maybe they posted on the wrong forum once :D

Zulu was not quoting anyone in authority just some end-user review posted at CNet.com explaining why Bryce sucked. He gave it a 1 out of 5 stars. As if it being available for free still or not had some bearing on the quality of the product. Just an obvious troll.
