[BtS] DIPLOMACY: a mod for Diplogames!

I hadn't realized the Chinese UB had changed, I used other modules for my mod without changing them so that must be part of their code rather than mine since I had no idea the Chinese UB had been altered. Since I'm doing everything from scratch that problem shouldn't exist anymore.

Ah, good.
That's why Taizong was a god in my games.
(Financial + trade route bonus) + (huge culture boost + imperialistic) + Cho-Ko-Nu = gigantic empire. Great defenders, great economy, quick cities, and quick land grab.

Then again, the UB change finally helped me not fail as Mao.

I am going to do new cavalry and rifleman units for Siam. I had a tough time finding images for these units but this is an image of their CURRENT marines in their dress uniforms:

I was thinking of making their riflemen unit look like this. I'll look around for more, but what do you think of that idea?

I made these quotes for Dusan of Serbia.

First Contact:
Welcome to the quite impressively huge [OUR_EMPIRE], [CT_NAME]. My name is [CT_NAME]. Would you like to surrender your lands to me right now or are you prepared for when I take them myself?

Refuse to Talk:
Leave me alone! Go bother the Turks about it.

No Peace:
Aww... is [CT_NAME] scared of the big, scary [OUR_CIV_ADJ] who wants to take his landy-wandy? Oh, boo-hoo!

Friendly Greeting:
I'm so happy you're here to bow down to me, [CT_NAME]. Want some plum juice?

Annoyed Greeting:
I don't know what's giving such a bad headache, [CT_NAME]: you or the fact I keep banging my head on the wall whenever I try to go out the door.

Demand Tribute Weaker:
[OUR_NAME]'s code says "All other leaders will give [CT_NAME] anything he wants." Yes, I added that law on the spot. So sue me!

Demand Tribute Equal:
One of my mercenary guards is nearby, I so I wouldn't deny myself this I were you...

Demand Tribute Stronger:
Give this to the great empire of [CT_CIV_SHORT], or I shall crush you and your pathetic land, midget.

This has solved one of the questions I've been asking myself for ages: what would Japanese people look like cosplaying as Civ leader. Nice Bismarck impression.

You can't go wrong with a Pickelhaube, I like it.

Pickelhaube are nice. Just be careful not to sit on one.

Say, that gives me an idea for a button!

The helmets will actually look slightly different than a traditional Pickelhaube. As you can see their helmets aren't exactly Pickelhaubes, but similar. They will look good, and distinct from German helmets (or any other ones for that matter).

If Dr. Livingstone defected to the German Army...

This is not finished by any means, but this is what I am talking about. Compare this helmet (with the spike on top obviously) with the one in the image I provided. I'll fix the head too so it looks right but this is going to be the general idea. I think it looks pretty similar if not exactly the same.

Nice.
I think of all the Civs in this coming module, I'm looking forward to Siam the most.

I'm hoping to have the Siamese preview up sometime tonight. But in case I can't I have a few NifSkope teasers for you.

Here is the Siamese Kwan-Chang. In CivGold their UU is a Mahout. I looked Mahout up and that is a Hindi word, according to Wikipedia at least. On the wikipedia page for Mahout it said taht Kwan-Chang is the Thai term for Mahout. I am not sure how accurate the name is though, because as far as I can tell it just means Elephant Rider. If anyone can clarify this for me that'd be good.

I'm starting to work on the Siamese first draft/preview. Not everything will be finished (for instance I can't finish the Rifleman and Cavalry tonight) but I'll try to get something up for you guys. In case I can't here's the Ho Trai, their UB. Much like the UU I haven't yet figured out exact stats, I may see what others have done for both and apply that, unless anyone had some ideas? The Ho Trai, if I am correct, is some sort of library or place of knowlege. It may be similar to a University or a Library (at least in civilization terminology).

Love both.

For the UU, I'd suggest giving it a bonus against melee units.
For the UB, it's a sort of library for holy scriptures. I'd suggest either a library with either a culture boost or a great person boost. I'd go with the latter, personally.

Also, I believe the Thai word for mahout is Kwaan, though Kwaan Chaaang is acceptable too. As well as kaa-chaa-cheep.

The only word of Thai I know is Ka-nom-pan-ping. Etcetera, etcetera, etcetera.

A Ho Trai is a scripture hall.

Another question. Will Mongkut be the leader of Siam, or is Ramkhamhaeng going along with him?

Mongkut and Ramkhamhaeng will be the leaders of Siam. I haven't decided on personality and traits for them. I might use Civ Gold and Amra's Mod as guides but I like to do my own personality for leaders. So we'll see what I come up with. I haven't done that much research on Siam just yet because I was too worried about getting the graphics and XML together. If you guys have any suggestions for either leader (or the UU and UB for that matter) please let me know what you think I should do.

Okay, here is what I am probably going to do for the Siamese UU and UB.

Kwaan Chaang
Replaces War Elephant
+50% against melee units

Ho Trai
Replaces Library
Can Turn Two Citizens into Priest
+ 1 :) with state :religion:

Does that sound okay to you guys?

Sounds good.

Trait wise, Mongkut should probably be Phi/Fin or Phi/Cre.. His rule had a -massive- positive effect on science in Siam, and Phi/Fin would have the same effect in-game. Either that or phi/cre, due to his efforts to bring in Western influence.
Personality wise, he should be a big techer and builder, but not much of a military figure. He should also be very open to trading.

For Ram, I'd say Phi/Spi. He set Buddhism as the state religion and created the Thai alphabet.
Personality wise, he should be similar to Mongkut except more open to open borders/defensive pacts and he should focus more on religion.

I just got an idea for an Indian Great Artist. What if we colored the GA's clothes orange, give him the head of a guy with a turban, and he could be one of those Sikh Bollywood artists?

Tunak Tunak Tun, Tunak Tunak Tun, Tunak Tunak Tun, da da da...

Also, sorry that I haven't been on MSN Messenger.
My ISP is throttling me because they think I've been pirating. In reality, it's gaming patches via Steam and few MMOs.

The best part? They refuse to offer tech support on that. All they'll say is "We don't assist with that, only with complete connection loss."
Hate Cox so much...
