What I really want, is an English translation of the Saga of Ragnar Lodbrok and his Sons. I know there are better quotes in there (I can decipher Old Norse to a limited extent), but to implement these I would need a proper translation.

In the meantime, you could always mod Ragnar's text yourself. An easy enough job.

Cyrus uses "gods" with a small "g" when he greets you. Could you check this please.

I haven't seen a list of files affected by the patch yet, so I can't be sure. But the mod works fine.

Hey guys. Yes, all silliness is gone. No caesar salad, no "cool civs".

I have changed all the leaders' first contact text. There is some strangeness with Ragnar's however. Last I met him, he greeted me with Firaxis's original text. I'm not sure why.

Maybe because everyone hates the lyrics you replaced them with?! Even Firaxis. No really I love this mod... but because of Ragnar it drives me to insanity. Please replace them with something more normal (even if it isn't officially by Ragnar).

And why does it make them use the short description instead of the adjective, or whatever it does, and why does it make it spell "civilisation" with an s??
