BtS For Mac Release

You never know! Maybe its 11 scenarios from BtS and an extra one to make up for the delay.

1st of all there are 12 that ship with BTS, and second i would think it would be a hacker if it were not on the front page

I wish Blizzard would buy the rights to Civ. Then we'd get a single DVD with PC/Mac support at the same time. And both versions would be just as fast. :)

... and there it was ... Gone!

The Civ4 Beyond the Sword graphic no longer seems to appear in the sequence if you refresh the Aspyr Home Page.

My Safari browser history contains distant memories of a release page for BtS. Hit one of those links and I now get "Requested product does not exist.". It is an ex product. it has ceased to exist. It has shuffled off the mortal coil .... etc.

Wonder what's happened to that, then!

My guess is the game is still coming, but the departments have finally communicated. I emailed Kari Scott (Aspyr) and asked about the appearance of BtS online, yet the absence of an official announcement. Not that that precipitated anything, because it was about a week ago. I feel they simply are disorganized. I doubt Aspyr Media directly manages their website, since most businesses outsource such things. However, they should possess the skills to do so.

You're probably right. I doubt that they would go that far and then abandon it, unless some contractual issue has blown up in their faces. Let's hope it's still on its way.

In other news, I note that Glenda Adams has recently left Aspyr to pursue her interests in iPhone game development. Probably no connection ...

I believe her group, Maverick Games, worked on the recently released Underworld RPG. Looks good, a Diablo-type game.

Wonder if that was an old page they didn't take down when they cancelled the project? Sure hope not. Let us know if you get an answer to that email, dojoboy!

Per Brad Oliver in a post today at IMG.

Also, I apologize for the way the Beyond the Sword expansion is being teased as teasing isn't the intention. I believe we were hoping to do a splash when the game was effectively on trucks and on the way to stores, which is a difficult path to take with so many companies involved. It's nearing the end of development now. I'll ask about the press release situation with it, but I think the intention is to put one out once it's GM. In lieu of an official PR for it though, we could give it a codename too: "Poorly-Kept Secret". :-)

wow, what a happy surprise I get today! I have played BTS in paralells and now I've moved on to Revolution on my PS3, but I will definitely buy BTS Mac version, gotta reward Aspyr!

Wow !!! Lucky I'm already sat on my chair ...

Welcome :wavey:

You may be interested in the discussion of the Amazon release date(s) that started a few weeks ago in another thread. The 13 July date was first mentioned here. The thread includes some comments on release schedules from Brad Oliver of Aspyr, and some speculation about the impact of the recent arrival of version 3.19 of BtS for Windows.

The PC version got a extra 'Mesoamerica'* mod with a update, maybe that's confusing.

*or something like that.

I hope my Globe Arena mod will work:sad:

 i didn't notice this was a old, verly old thread
