Ideas..

I dont remember what corperations do ,but this would have reprecusions:The _____ corperation was found to be incorperating slave labor in _____ city.
this trigger would take place after emancipation.

A ( civ )cargo ship was seazed of the coast of our city of____ .Found to be transporting mining equipment and enriched weapons grade uranium.
trigger would be after UN vote to ban nuclear weapons.
options could be :
seaze cargo ship return uranium to UN for destruction..add plus 1 :hammers: to all mines in city fat cross ,-1 reation to civ
return cargo ship to civ +2 relation to civ
hand over cargo ship to UN +2 vote for UN.
hope this gets a new roand of ideas

dust in atmosphere-(ends human race-time victory at any time)
continental shift-adds a extra row sea
exhausted resource- cities use the resource to much
global warming increase of water by 5%
(on the map setting you have low, meduim,etc instead its in %)
break through + X beakers
hackers(after computers) whole civ into anarchy.

Option 5: Steal the Uranium for yourself. Free ICBM, -2 relations with [civ], and a % chance (modified by the espionage ratio of you to the current UN Secretary-General) that you suffer "economic sanctions" for 10 turns (eg No foreign trade with voting members of the UN).

I'll add them now, only the main event otherwise the front page will be to crowded..

Some of these are going to be very hard to implement which is why i'm only going to combine everyones together and make some easyish ones myself, i just don't have time..
 
There's quite a inbalance of negative events to postive events,

For examples
1) The World Cup has been chosen to be hosted in your country, +3 happiness in all cities for a set number of turns, +1 health in all cities (due to the sudden interest of the sport)

2) There is has been a period of good climate for the growth of any crop resource, increased happiness or health, over a set number of turns

3) Boom Times, increased commerce
 
okay... heres another one:

A local herbalist from [city] has found to have amazing capabilities in healing. After some formalities, you wish to employ him in your empire.

- Keep him in [city] - the inhabitants need him. +4 health, + 1 :)
- Bring him to the capital as the court physician. +25% gold (from increased health of the bureaucracy, making them work better)
- Bring him to the capital, where he can help us in research and in practical uses of his capability at the Empire's University of Medicine. +1 health in all cities, +10% research in capital
 
we also need some quests, so how about this...

There is now an alarming rate of unsanitation in your cities. Your ministers advise that to effectively combat this, you must construct six hospitals in your cities within [X] turns.

- Doing so will give +1 health in all cities
 
another quest:

A master of swordsmanship is currently visiting your empire. Interested in finding someone to serve, your ministers advise that you wow him with a show of your finest soldiers. Build 3 swordsmen in [X] turns.

Doing so will give units in your capital get +2 XP for [X] turns.
 
"Number of homeless persons and beggars in [city] have risen to an alarming rate." you could get rid of unemployment by turning them into units or hammers or they could migrate.
 
-An alien species has visited to give you advanced tech!

-A foreign sports star wishes to move here and hopefully improve the popularity of his strange foreign sport thereof.

-Mr. Dude wants to film a documentary about our nation! This could mean big cultural influence for us! But he could also be our own Michael Moore.

-Fountain of Youth discovered! Health bonus!

-Lost Ark discovered! More powerful army!

-Hey! We discovered the cure for AIDs! I wonder how much cash we could drain out of Mali for it?

-We may be poor, but [top civ] has chosen us to manufacture all their shoes and TV remotes for them!

The unsanitary methods used in food/drug production in your civ is growing apparent. Citizens demand action!

- Screw the citizens, and make the corporations give us more money! :bwaha: (+1 :mad:, -1 health in all cities) <-- thats not a good choice
- Impose a number of laws and regulations on those corporations! (+1 :), +1 health in all cities, -300 gold)
- Impose a massive number of laws, regulations, policies, etc. etc. etc. on those cheap and corrupt fat businessmen. (+2 :), +2 health in all cities, -500 gold)


another one (a quest):

The East [Your company] has decided to help fund our civilization in its colonization, but only if we can recruit the settlers. Otherwise, they will provide all the funds.

- Build 3 settlers in [X] turns to receive [random amount, somehwere between 500 to 1000] gold or make it gold per turn
