BTS screen goes black after loading

Hi,

When I start up BtS, the screen goes black once I get to the intro video, except for a smaller flicker in the top left hand corner of the screen. When I use the mouse to click on the screen, to try to get to the main menu, it still remains black and nothing happens. I tried CIV 4 Vanilla, and everything works fine, as well as the Realism Invictus mod. So I'm not sure what's going on.

FYI, I'm running on a SONY S-series laptop, with 2nd generation i5 processor, 4 GB of ram, and a Radeon 6470 graphics card. Also it's Windows 7.

I would appreciate any help anyone could give me to help solve this issue.

We're you already playing the unmodded BTS before the crash?
Try to empty "CustomAssets" folder or reinstall BTS.

You said you can play RI Mod. Check out BUG Mod 4.4, it might work, too.

Emptying the Custom Assets folder didn't work, so I had to re-install both civ 4 vanilla and BTS. And that worked. But apparently now I need to reinstall my mods.

So apparently after re-installing Civ 4 and BTS, none of my mods work, and need to be re-installed. Except they won't. It seems the the automatic folder detection isn't working, and I can't find the BTS .exe file.

So apparently kiwitt's instructions are only for disk-installations, not download-installations. Does anyone else have any ideas?
