Buce01: The Slavemaster

Okay, I have a plan. Based on current citizen assignments and corruption levels, we'll begin execution when the last spaceship tech is three turns away from completion. We'll also need one Wonder to use as a prebuild; The Internet, Longevity, or Cure for Cancer would probably work (other wonders will likely be completed before we launch, so I don't want to use those as prebuilds).

Turn 1:
Corinth: Wonder (prebuild for SS Engine, 640 shields)

Turn 2:
Thermopylae: Palace (prebuild for SS Exterior Casing, 640 shields)

Turn 3:
Athens: Apollo Program (500 shields)

Turn 4:
Do nothing.

Turn 5:
Rhodes: Solar Plant (prebuild for SS Stasis Chamber, 320 shields)
Thessalonica: Solar Plant (prebuild for SS Life Support, 320 shields)

Turn 6:
Ellipi: Solar Plant (prebuild for SS Thrusters, 320 shields)
Delphi: Solar Plant (prebuild for SS Cockpit, 320 shields)

Turn 7:
No new builds.

Turn 8:
Marathon: Airport (prebuild for SS Docking Bay, 160 shields)

Turn 9:
Artemisium: Airport (prebuild for SS Fuel Cells, 160 shields)
Sparta: Airport (prebuild for SS Planetary Party Lounge, 160 shields)
Knossos: Airport (prebuild for SS Storage/Supply, 160 shields)

Turns 10-12:
Do nothing.

Turn 13:
Apollo completes. Zoom to Athens, then use the arrows to scroll through the other towns, updating prebuilds to SS parts.

It seems I miscalculated my schedule so I'm back home for a day:). The only think I would say is that there is a fair bit of unclaimed land and the other continent has galleons so maybe that land should be settled first although it's mostly plains so we won't get too much from it. We need tons of settlers so we'll probably have to rush them (not too big a deal as we have plenty of food-rich corrupt towns) but balancing the income to afford the rushes and maxing out research with beakerheads will take some judgment calls. I think we should get enough on the final turn to help with our 4-turn research but selling our techs is, I think, the way to build the coffers. I think A-Theory is ready to be sold around as soon as we make peace with Shaka.

Sorry guys, there has been a breakdown in communication; I emailed Phaedo earlier this week to say that my PC had died, and would he post a skip for me, but it seems that he is away from home and didn't receive it.

It's going to take a few days to sort things out, so I'm restricted to using Internet cafes for the time being. Again, apologies.

Sorry guys. I was away for the past few days and am going away again for a couple of days tomorrow. I've been doing extra work over the summer and haven't had access to the internet. I'll be back Wed.
I don't think we have to rush this one so I don't mind waiting for Tusker:)

I'm fine with waiting for Tusker - been pretty busy here too.

Strategy:

We have three cav armies and plenty of infantry and arty. I'll split them into two attack stacks and sack Ulundi and Hlobane. I plan on razing them both for the slaves.

Once that's done, we have two options:

1. Rush 3-6 Transports and a pair of Destroyers to send our forces to evict the Zulu off their islands.
2. Give Shaka his peace and focus solely on exploiting our continent.

Either way, most of this turnset will be composed of rushing settlers to fill the empty spaces in our recent conquest.

Is there anything else I should keep in mind before I proceed?

I'm speaking without access to the game, but IIRC there is a useful (ie. tradeable) resource on Shaka's Island; you may as well take it, IMO.

Willie will currently give circa 300gpt for Refining and Steel, IIRC; when deciding whether to take it, bear in mind that he may be enjoying his GA, and may be unable to keep up his payments when it ends.
Try and work out if that's likely, and - if so - how many turns remain.

Edit: In any case, our deal with Willie for 2 lux's expires in two turns, so hold off until then.

Wow, I'm surprised I haven't been skipped! Does no one check the out of pocket thread these days?

Anyway, sorry for the long delay, guys. I won't be able to play my turnset until late this Friday, so please skip me if anyone else can take it before then.

Well, I just played right before Phaedo played his 5 turns, so I'm in no hurry to jump in before you. I'm ok with waiting.

I'm actually back on a regular schedule. I suppose I could finish the other 5 turns while we're waiting. Does that sound good?

Yes, it does :p. I've just got caught with work and am in process with catching up with personal stuff :)

Err...actually, I'm partway through a set. Could you wait until I finish it?

Turn 5 (1450 AD):

New Apolyton founded. Making Settler.

With worker moves, I tried to keep stacks together, but with differing needs for roads, railroads, marsh/jungle clearing, and irrigation, I ended up with some stray slaves outside of gangs. The next player might want to take a closer look at adjusting stacks for optimum slave use.

We have four Transports and a Destroyer ready to be rushed near the old Zulu core. I waited on them because the destroyers I did rush had to come around the horn to guard them. We should be able to fill and guard them in about 2 turns, then we can finish off Shaka's islands.

Speaking of Shaka, he captured an Arabic city on the other continent. Hopefully he'll lose it again, but keep in mind that we may need to go over there to finish him off.

Once Shaka is gone, I think we should kill the Inca, then the Iroquois, then the Portuguese. With them gone, science rates will speed up.

No worries at all. i was just offering to fill in. Good luck :)

Oh, and I should probably mention that the Dutch couldn't afford any gpt when I renewed our lux deal. However, based on his gold amount from the last turn, he's doing pretty well now.
